Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For December 14th

The ineffectiveness of Beverley and the disaster that was Timofey Mozgov last night torpedoed my lineups. Have I mentioned how much I hate Brian Shaw’s rotations in Denver? There rarely seems to be any rhyme or reason.

More from FanDuel

There are seven games on tap in the NBA tonight. Here are my FanDuel Lineups for December 14th:

Dec 12, 2014; Minneapolis, MN, USA; Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook (0) looks on during the third quarter against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center. The Thunder defeated the Timberwolves 111-92. Mandatory Credit: Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Point Guards:

Bargains:

Derrick Rose, Bulls ($6,700): Rose had his best game of the season against Portland on Friday. It may be a little early to start saying that he is back, but the fact remains that Rose has averaged 30 fantasy points per game over his last five outings. That is good production for his price. Oh, and I like his matchup against the Heat.

Norris Cole, Heat ($4,400): Cole is outplaying Chalmers lately, and by a pretty large margin. He is the starter, and as long as he is playing better than Chalmers, he will carve out more and more minutes.

Worth The Cost:

Russell Westbrook, Thunder ($9,900): Westbrook has been unconscious of late. He has five consecutive games of 40 plus fantasy points. He is a must-play right now.

John Wall, Wizards ($9,900): Wall has not been under 30 fantasy points in December. In fact, the only game he has had belowĀ 38 this month was his last outing against the Clippers and Chris Paul. Expect better results tonight against the Jazz.

Risky Play:

Kyle Lowry, Raptors ($9,800): Lowry has been under 40 fantasy points three times in his last four games after three straight games of over 50. Perhaps the absence of DeMar DeRozan is hurting him a little bit.

My Lineups:

A: Cole and Curry ($14,400)

B: Westbrook and Rose ($16,600)

Shooting Guards:

Bargains:

Nick Young, Lakers ($5,100): Young is starting to find his stroke. That is bad news for Lakers’ opponents, as he can put up a lot of points in a hurry. Young has nine straight games of double digit points, culminating in a season high 29 on Friday against the Spurs. Tonight he gets a beat up Timberwolves team. He might have a new season high when this one is done.

Danny Green, Spurs ($5,300): Green has carved out a rather large role for himself on this veteran team. He won’t put up huge numbers like he does when the veterans sit, but as he showed on Friday, he can put up solid games even with everyone in the lineup. Green is a solid mid-20’s guy, with the potential to get into the 30’s.

Worth The Cost:

Kobe Bryant, Lakers ($9,300): After a couple of below average (for Kobe) games, he is back in track with his last two. He could have a huge game against the Timberwolves tonight, but if it turns into a blowout, Kobe could get an extended rest. If it’s close throughout, Bryant will keep shooting. And keep scoring.

Klay Thompson, Warriors ($7,700): Thompson has been over 30 fantasy points in five of his last six games. I am taking him over Jimmy Butler because Butler’s production is down a bit since Derrick Rose’s return.

Risky Play:

Eric Bledsoe, Suns ($8,200): Bledsoe has had only 44 points in the two games since he exploded against the Clippers on Monday. The Suns are finally healthy, and who carries the team on any given night is anyone’s guess.

My Lineups:

A: Bryant and Thompson ($17,000)

B: Young and Bradley Beal ($11,500): Beal had a huge game his last time out on Friday. He has a lot of upside, and I am taking a bit of a gamble on my B team. Conventional methods aren’t working lately…

Nov 7, 2014; Orlando, FL, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves guard Corey Brewer (13) shoots a free throw against the Orlando Magic during the second half at Amway Center. Orlando Magic defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 112-103 in overtime. Mandatory Credit: Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Small Forwards:

Bargain:

Corey Brewer, Timberwolves ($5,300): Brewer has done a very good job for Minnesota since Kevin Martin’s injury. Brewer was shut down by the Spurs last weekend, but he has been over 28 fantasy points in every other one of his last five games. He is a very safe option for tonight, especially against the Lakers.

Harrison Barnes, Warriors ($5,500): Barnes has been off and on all season long, which makes him a bit of a risk. However, as long as David Lee is still out, Barnes will continue to see lots of minutes. He always has the potential to put up good numbers. He has been on in his last two games. There is a chance that this continues against the Pelicans.

Worth The Cost:

Draymond Green, Warriors ($7,200): Green has averaged 34.5 points per game over his last eight games. That is a very good string of games, which makes him a reliable option.

Carmelo Anthony, Knicks ($9,300): His back is a bit of a concern, but he is still producing nice fantasy numbers for the most part. That said, two out of his last eight games have resulted in fantasy point totals in the 20’s. That would be a huge disappointment if one of those happens to you if you spend this kind of money.

Risky Play:

Kevin Durant, Thunder ($9,700): Durant is still on a minutes limit for now. While he is, he has not produced like you want a 10K guy to do. Wait until the limit is lifted.

My Lineups:

A: Green and Barnes ($12,700)

B: Green and Andrew Wiggins ($13,000): Wiggins has been turned loose, and his fantasy totals have responded as well. I’m jumping on this train right now.

Dec 10, 2014; Orlando, FL, USA; Washington Wizards forward Kris Humphries (43) dunks against the Orlando Magic during the first quarter at Amway Center. Mandatory Credit: Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forwards:

Bargains:

Kris Humphries, Wizards ($4,900): Humphries has averaged 27 fantasy points over his last eight games. He is providing outstanding value for the Wizards right now, as he is for fantasy owners and daily fantasy players as well.

Ed Davis, Lakers ($4,600): Davis is still starting, but Carlos Boozer is eating away at his minutes with his play. Still, Davis is a good bet for 25 fantasy points on any given night, which is a really good value.

Worth The Cost:

Tim Duncan, Spurs ($8,400): When he plays, Duncan is still a monster in fantasy. He is averaging 43 fantasy points per game in December. If he is in Popovich’s lineup, he should likely be in yours as well.

Pau Gasol, Bulls ($9,300): He has averaged 42 fantasy points per game since his return nine games ago. I’ll have the Kung Pau!

Risky Play:

Serge Ibaka, Thunder ($7,500): Ibaka is much more valuable to the Thunder than to fantasy teams. This should come as no surprise to anyone. He has only averaged 21 fantasy points over his last three games. That is nowhere near what you need for that price.

My Lineups:

A; Humphries and Markieff Morris ($11,900): Morris has tremendous upside, and has played well lately. He is a bit of a risk, butĀ  one I am comfortable with taking.

B: Humphries and Duncan ($13,300)

Nov 26, 2014; Oklahoma City, OK, USA; Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams (12) attempts to grab a rebound against the Utah Jazz during the second quarter at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Mandatory Credit: Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargain:

Steven Adams, Thunder ($4,000): Adams has played very well over his last two games. If he can stay on the court, he has the potential to keep putting up good numbers. I like his chances against Phoenix tonight.

Worth The Cost:

Jonas Valanciunas, Raptors ($6,200): Valanciunas is playing very well lately. There is a lack of top options available at center tonight, so why not take a flier on Jonas? He is averaging 33 fantasy points per game over his last three games.

My Lineups:

A:Ā  Adams ($4,000)

B: Omer Asik ($5,600): Asik is a rebounding machine! He is averaging 27 fantasy points per game over his last seven games, and it is all because of his rebounding prowess. He isn’t much of a scorer, but blocks and rebounds are worth more anyway.
