The Jacksonville Jaguars, currently sitting at 2-11, need to think of creative ways to put themselves in position to win games.
That includes putting the offense in a great position to score as they currently have the least points of any team in the NFL. A good way to do that? Give them a short field, something the team did on Sunday afternoon against the Baltimore Ravens as they unleashed a tricky, surprise onside kick.
Just moments after taking a 9-7, the Jacksonville Jaguars lined up as if they were going to perform a routine kickoff but that’s where they pulled a rabbit out of their hat and squibbed the ball into a fleeing Ravens defense preparing themselves to block.
That moment allowed the Jags to rush towards the bouncing pigskin, securing the rock before the Ravens could recover.
It was a ballsy move considering the Jaguars actually had the lead but it appeared as if they either saw something in the Baltimore Ravens kickoff coverage or simply thought they’d roll the dice. Either way, it ended up working out as the Ravens looked a little shocked the Jaguars accomplished the task.
They’re not the only ones.
