Can you name a healthy quarterback on the Houston Texans roster? Probably not as they’ve not only lost starter Ryan Fitzpatrick to a broken leg (watch here if you’re into that sort of thing), but they’re now without rookie signal caller Tom Savage.
The former Pitt star came in for Fitzpatrick on Sunday afternoon and played well in his absence. It was expected he would finish out the season as the starter, though that won’t be the case – at least not during Week 16 – as Tom Savage has been ruled out by the Houston Texans.
That horrifying scenario now puts the fate of the team in the hands of Thad Lewis or Case Keenum who the team brought back Monday morning.
While no official word has been given regarding who will start for the Houston Texans when they oppose a tough Baltimore Ravens defense, the belief is that Keenum will get the call given his familiarity with the franchise.
Considering there is only one regular season game remaining for the Texans and their chances for a playoff spot are null, it’s very possible we’ve seen the last of Tom Savage this season as being sent to the IR would open up a much needed roster spot.
It’s a tough blow for the Texans who were likely hoping to see what Tom Savage could do, especially after he played so well on Sunday afternoon.
