Johnny Manziel looked and played like a rookie making his first career start for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday but his good friend LeBron James isn’t ready to throw in the towel on his career after only one game.

The Cleveland Browns started Johnny Manziel in place of Brian Hoyer with the team officially eliminated from the playoffs and he’s in need of a second chance at making a favorable first impression.

Manziel was 10-of-18 passing for 80 yards and two interceptions and ran five times for 13 yards in the 30-0 home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and very much looked like a player who deserved to sit behind Hoyer this season. Some fans may have already lost faith in the former Heisman winner and first round pick, but his friend Lebron James isn’t in that company.

"“I’m not disappointed. I’m a friend that supports, and it’s only one game,” James said Monday, per Cleveland.com."

James was in attendance for his first start as he watched the game with Manziel’s business partners and agents and believes how Manziel responds to his awful performance and shakes it off will be more important.

“I know more than anybody how the game goes and how the game works, so he’s worked very hard and you can’t put all that pressure or everything that happened on just one game,” James continued. “That’s what being a professional’s all about, you’re going to have mistakes, and how you come back from them is a measure of who you are.”

Now that “The King” has spoken on behalf of his friend and business associate we can rest easy because the four-time NBA MVP gave his critique on an NFL quarterback.

Personally, I’ll be able to rest easy not that LeBron hasn’t lost faith in “Johnny Football.”
