Fancred was founded in 2012 and has continued to grow in terms of its users and it’s features and functionalities for its growing number of users and that continued on Tuesday with their latest update that will change the way we experience sports as fans.
The social media app is a digital scrapbook that organizes everything you do as a sports fan to keep those memories in a neat and tidy spot to keep the selfie you took at the 50-yard line after you rushed the field after your college football team pulled off an epic upset to the live stream of consciousness you pour out in a series of posts. Fancred is a little black book for sports fans.
Fancred is a Godsend for fans of sport who want to engage and connect with fellow fans and share their experiences to make game day, everyday.
Sports fans live and breathe with the successes and failures of their teams and Fancred makes it easier for fans to connect with fellow fans across the globe with a touch of a few buttons.
Did you grow up a fan of the Chicago Cubs but now live in Arizona and can’t stay in touch with the daily news of your favorite team?
Fancred’s team feeds are the answer to that problem and the revolutionary new update will change our fan experience for the better.
Per the press release announcing hte launch, ‘Your Fancred’ is a place to digitally capture and neatly organize these moments by favorite allegiances – the teams, sports, and events you live for – so it’s easy to relive and share memories. Once signed in using email or Facebook, simply begin building your fan profile by choosing your favorite teams and sports. Your Fancred automatically organizes and ranks all fan activity (photos, videos, conversations, articles and check-ins) into dedicated albums on your profile.
"“The sports industry is still in its infancy when it comes to fan engagement on mobile and social media,” said Fancred’s CEO, Hossein Kash Razzaghi. “The release of ‘Your Fancred’ really sets the tone for our company direction with a completely differentiated product and vision.”"
What I love about Fancred is that you’re never alone watching a game and it makes you feel like you’re watching your favorite team in the center of the stadium or at your favorite sports bar. Fancred offers something for everyone whether you’re a fan of the NFL, college football, tennis or golf.
The redesigned profile pages are streamlined to show a brief bio and your number of people you follow and who follows you and how you can access the team feed where you can add and drop the teams you follow and see the photos you’ve added and all the posts you’ve entered.
What’s really neat is now you can have bragging rights to finally answer the question who the biggest fan of a particular team is with the function to see your album that tabulates the number of posts you’ve made and photos you’ve added about a particular team. As you can see in the image below, there is no bigger fan of Southern Miss than Fancred’s head of strategy and content, Landon Howell.
Your images show up in a digital photo album so if you’re a fan of taking selfie’s from inside the stadium or are sharing the best images you gather from the photographers at field level, you can relive your favorite sports memories in a matter of seconds. This is one of my favorite features because it takes you back to the highs you experience after a thrilling victory.
Finally, the competitive aspect that drives our favorite athletes also fuels the Fancred users who aim to boost their “cred score” by constantly checking in at stadiums, consistently posting and sharing their favorite users thoughts and images and adding following new people. Your cred score runs from 1-100 and increases based on the above factors.
This isn’t a new feature like the ones mentioned above but it’s one aspect that makes this app an addictive and entertaining one. By taking advantage of all that Fancred has made available to its users you will soon find yourself addicted to the app like I was when I joined the Fancred Nation last summer and I hope to see you there.
So what are you waiting for? Download the app today and come join the revolution and make game day, everyday.
The app is available for Apple and Android users and for more information about Fancred, visit fancred.com and check out their Facebook page and follow @fancred on Twitter.
