I finally got back into the money again last night. Let’s see if I can do it again!
There are five games in the NBA tonight, and a lot of stars on display. Which ones are your best bet to chase after?

Here are my FanDuel lineups for December 16th:
Dec 11, 2014; Oklahoma City, OK, USA; Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook (0) reacts after a dunk against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Mandatory Credit: Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports
Point Guards:
Bargains:
Mo Williams ($5,500) or Zach LaVine ($5,100), Timberwolves: Whoever starts at PG is a bargain. Williams practiced yesterday, so he is nearing a return. Stay tuned to the status of this throughout the day, and take the one that starts since they are both about the same price, and have produced at about the same clip.
Norris Cole, Heat ($4,900): Cole is averaging 24 fantasy points per game over his last four games. He and Chalmers are still jockeying for minutes, so this is a situation to monitor. That said, they are both still getting about 30 minutes a game. If you have the extra cash, Chalmers is a little bit of a safer bet, but Cole is good value for the price.
Worth The Cost:
Russell Westbrook, Thunder ($10,100): Westbrook is back to his dominant form. He has had six consecutive games of over 40 fantasy points, including two straight games over 50. Need I say more?
John Wall, Wizards ($10,000): Wall continued his red-hot December with another 44 fantasy points on Sunday. He isn’t quite as hot as Westbrook, but he is close. Add to the fact that he is playing the Timberwolves, and he could have a very good game. Just beware he may sit more down the stretch if the game gets out of hand.
Risky Play:
Jrue Holliday, Pelicans ($8,000): I know you want to play Jrue. I do too. He has two games of over 50 fantasy points in his last three games. The one that wasn’t? It was under 30. That said, this is a pretty minor risk. I don’t particularly like his matchup against Utah though.
My Lineups:
A: Westbrook and LaVine ($15,200)
B: Wall and Trey Burke ($15,700): Burke has been up and down this year, but he seems to be on an uptick. That’s what a B lineup is for, right? Taking a bit of a chance?
Next: Let's Check Out The SG's!

Shooting Guards:
Bargains:
Tim Hardaway Jr, Knicks ($4,000): Hardaway has three straight games of over 20 fantasy points. It is no coincidence that he has received at least 30 minutes in those games. As long as he is starting, he is the best bargain in the game. He has the pedigree, and the shooting stroke to be a very good player in the league.
Brad Beal, Wizards ($6,600): Beal has had two very good games in a row. We have seen flashes of brilliance from him before, but keeping it up has been an issue. He has 81 fantasy points in his last two games, and he gets the Timberwolves tonight. This could be a very good night for the youngster.
Worth The Cost:
Monta Ellis, Mavericks ($7,800): Since the disastrous game last Wednesday against Memphis, Ellis is back on track with 76 fantasy points in the last two games. Honestly, I trust him more tonight than I do Klay Thompson against Memphis.
Tyreke Evans, Pelicans ($7,500): Reke has put up an astounding 104.5 fantasy points in just his last two games. He is in the zone right now. That’s all you can say. You may have to temper your expectations a bit against Utah, but a mid-30’s night is a great possibility.
Risky Play:
Ben McLemore, Kings ($4,500): Mac has been one of my favorite value plays for the last few weeks. He would be again tonight if it weren’t for the coaching change in Sacramento. As our Dave Fuqua said yesterday, it is probably best to wait and see with many Kings players because you have no idea what the new rotation will look like.
My Lineups:
A: Ellis and Hardaway ($11,800)
B: Evans and Hardaway ($11,500)
Next: Next Up: The Small Forwards!
Nov 26, 2014; Minneapolis, MN, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad (15) against the Milwaukee Bucks at Target Center. The Bucks defeated the Timberwolves 103-86. Mandatory Credit: Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports
Small Forwards:
Bargains:
Corey Brewer, Timberwolves ($5,500): Brewer just keeps producing for the beat up Timberwolves. He now has four straight games with 28 or more fantasy points. The minutes are going to be there for the foreseeable future, and Brewer is still a great bargain.
Shabazz Muhammad, Timberwolves ($5,300): Muhammad is on some kind of roll lately. His is averaging 30 fantasy points per game over his last three games. The only thing that worries me a little is the fact that that is more than the amount of minutes that he is playing.
Worth The Cost:
Rudy Gay, Kings ($8,600): Gay is picking up a lot of the slack with DeMarcus Cousins out. He has averaged 39 fantasy points per game since his return on November 28th. He has been the most consistent option at SF at that time. I will take 40 points for his price!
Draymond Green, Warriors ($7,500): Green turned in another very good fantasy performance on Sunday. He now has nine consecutive games over 25 fantasy points, and to of those are over 40.
Risky Play:
Kevin Durant, Thunder ($9.600): The Thunder say that his minutes can be increased, but that has yet to come to fruition. It likely will tonight if the game against the Kings stays close. That makes Durant a sneaky play, just be aware that what the team says and does could be two different things.
My Lineups:
A: Gay and Green ($16,100)
B: Gay and Brewer ($14,100)
Next: Up Next: A Lighter Night At PF
Dec 7, 2014; Boston, MA, USA; Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley (0) tries to strip the ball from Washington Wizards forward Kris Humphries (43) during the first quarter at TD Garden. Mandatory Credit: Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports
Power Forwards:
Bargains:
Jason Thompson, Kings ($5,200): Thompson still remains a great bargain with DeMarcus Cousins out. Even if the new coach does tinker with the minutes, he won’t have much choice but to play Thompson for at least 20 minutes, so I am comfortable taking the risk. Reggie Evans will be worth keeping an eye on as well. That said, Cousins could be back as soon as Thursday.
Kris Humphries, Wizards ($4,800): Despite Humprhies’ less than stellar performance against Utah on Saturday, he is still the starter with Nene Hilario coming off of the bench. As long as he is starting, he is worth taking a shot on if you need to go cheap. He usually stays in the mid-20’s fantasy point wise.
Worth The Cost:
Zach Randolph, Grizzlies ($7,500): Randolph is back on track, averaging 34 fantasy points per game over his last four games since an abysmal two game stretch at the beginning of December.
Ryan Anderson, Pelicans ($5,400): This one comes with a caveat. Anthony Davis participated in today’s shootaround, but is still considered a game time decision. If he sits, Anderson is a must play. He has 65 fantasy points in the two games that Davis has missed. If Davis plays, leave Anderson alone. He is too unreliable when he is just a spot shooter off the bench.
Risky Play:
Dirk Nowitzki, Mavericks ($7,300): Dirk has been over 24 fantasy points in each of his last four games, and he has a lip-smacking matchup against the Knicks on his plate for tonight. So why the risk? Because if this turns into a blowout, which it likely wiil, there is a good chance that Dirk rest all of the fourth quarter, and maybe even part of the third.
My Lineups:
A and B: Thompson and Humprhies ($10,000)
Next: Now For The Centers Of Attention
Dec 9, 2014; Memphis, TN, USA; Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph (50) and center Marc Gasol (33) celebrate after a play against the Dallas Mavericks in the first quarter at FedExForum. Mandatory Credit: Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports
Center:
Bargain:
Enes Kanter, Jazz ($5,800): Kanter has averaged 30 fantasy points per game over his last seven games. He is seeing consistent minutes for Utah now, and that trend should continue since his play has been solid.
Worth The Cost:
Marc Gasol, Grizzlies ($8,600): The big man is back on track, averaging 42 fantasy points per games over his last three games. He should be good to go heading forward. I like his matchup against Andrew Bogut tonight.
Risky Play:
Tyson Chandler, Mavericks ($6,700): Chandler has had four straight underwhelming games after dominating in the last half of November. Tonight he is actually work the risk against a patchwork Knicks squad. Just be prepared that you might get points somewhere in the low 20’s again.
My Lineups:
A: Chandler ($6,700)
B: Gasol ($8,600)
