Jared Cook Apologizes For Remarks About St. Louis Rams
By Cory Buck
St. Louis Rams tight end Jared Cook apologized for his choice of words following the team’s Thursday night loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
You’ll have to forgive Jared Cook if he says things he doesn’t mean. Once again he and the St. Louis Rams are effectively playing for pride in December and that can lead to some bitter words after another desultory loss, like the one St. Louis suffered Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals.

“We got outplayed, we got outcoached, and we just put a bad display out there,” Cook said following the 12-6 Thursday night loss. The comments prompted an immediate rebuke from coach Jeff Fisher, who suggested Cook wouldn’t word it that way if asked again.
Fisher was correct, as Cook redacted his previous statement, citing the heat of the moment.
“That was my fault for slipping up; it shouldn’t have been said,” Cook said, per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “But I think everybody kind of knew what I was doing. (The Cardinals) were a better team than us that day. That’s all I was trying to say. It wasn’t the best choice of words, I must admit. But I’m only human, right?”
We can mostly verify that Cook is human, as is the rest of this Rams team. How else to explain that 6-8 record? This team is making plenty of mistakes and while finger-pointing never helps anything, it’s safe to say players and coaches alike share the blame for another lost NFL season in St. Louis.
