Tight end Jared Cook was upset with how his Rams played in last night’s loss to the Cardinals.

More from Arizona Cardinals

After last night’s 12-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night football, St. Louis Rams tight end Jared Cook had a lot to say about how his team performed on the field.

From NFL.com:

"“We got outplayed, we got out-coached, and we just put a bad display out there,” Jared Cook said per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.The tight end declined to elaborate on what he meant by being “out-coached” when asked.“It’s pretty self-explanatory,” he said. “We got outplayed and out-coached. All we put up was six points and didn’t get in the (end zone) not once tonight. That’s a pretty unsuccessful night if you ask me.”"

Not including the defense who held the Rams to 274 total yards (it should be mentioned the Rams played much of the game against the Cardinals’ backup QB following Drew Stanton’s injury), it was a pretty rough night for the Rams. Quarterback Shaun Hill was responsible for 240 total yards, but failed to throw a touchdown (threw one interception) while the running backs rushed for a combined 69 yards on 20 attempts. Cook himself was responsible 3 receptions for 22 yards despite being targeted 8 times by Hill.

Comparing the two teams, few people expected the Rams to compete with a Cardinals team who are now 11-3, good for the best record in the NFL. But effort, that part of the game doesn’t rely on who’s the opposition.

Currently 6-8, the Rams’ chances of making the playoffs are pretty much out the picture even though they surpassed expectations post-Sam Bradford season-ending injury. Maybe for Cook’s sake, they can finish out the season with excellent effort to build upon next year.
