Keenan Lewis: Saints Preparing Funeral For Falcons
By Evan Massey
New Orleans Saints safety Keenan Lewis said that they are preparing a funeral for the Atlanta Falcons ahead of Week 16 NFL action.
The New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons are getting ready to match up in what could be the deciding game in who wins the NFC South. Both of these teams are still in the hunt to win the division, with the Saints being the current leader at 6-8 while the Falcons are 5-9. Atlanta would sweep the season series if they can win this week.

Keenan Lewis, a safety for the Saints, appears to believe that the Saints are going to finish the Falcons’ season this week. He made it very clear that he expects to beat the Falcons, and made public comments in the media about the team preparing a funeral for Atlanta this week.
“We’re definitely gonna give them their funeral,” he said.
Atlanta wide receiver Roddy White joked around about the trash talk when asked about it.
“May we rest in peace,” Roddy White said. I don’t have a response to that because the game is played on Sunday at 12 o’clock. When the ball kicks off and we start to tingle, get it up and mix it around and mingle out there, we’ll see who the better team is at the end of the game. That’s all that’s going to matter. There’s no kind of motivation like, ‘Oh they said this,’ or ‘We said that.’ No, we know what it is. It’s Saints-Falcons.”
That is the appropriate response from the Falcons, and it will be very intriguing to watch this game. Either team could come out hot, and the other could struggle. Both teams have had some very difficult stretches this season, but the Saints should be the better team on paper if they play up to their potential.
There are plenty of reasons to watch this game, but the trash talking prior to a rivalry is the biggest one. If you’re a fan of tense football between bitter enemies, then this is the game for you. New Orleans and Atlanta know what is on the line, and they are going to bring a bit more to the field than usual.
