There are two surefire ways to start a brawl in a basketball game.
You can either push a guy when they’re in mid-flight or you can unleash an elbow. Louisville Cardinals star Montrezl Harrell decided to go with the latter during his tilt against Western Kentucky on Saturday afternoon which resulted in his ejection.
It all took place with just under a minute remaining in the first half.
A fight for a loose ball ended with Montrezl Harrell on the ground with a collection of Western Kentucky players falling on top of him. Understandably Harrell wasn’t a big fan of such and it appeared as if one Western Kentucky player got a little too aggressive for the Louisville Cardinals star who quickly raised up off the court and unleashed a nasty elbow in direction of Avery Patterson.
That of course started a mini-brawl which also resulted in contact with a referee. The end result? Players scurrying all over the court and Montrezl Harrell ejected from the game.
Given the contact and the elbow there’s no way Montrezl Harrell will be available for the Louisville Cardinal’s next game against Cal State Northridge. Barring an extended absence he should be available for the Cardinals tilt against the Kentucky Wildcats on December 23rd.
