This is one of those nights in FanDuel where there are so many good, cheap options that you should be able to get every star you want.
Here are my FanDuel Lineups for December 21st:
Dec 19, 2014; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook (0) celebrates on the court in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. The Thunder won 104-103. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
Point Guards:
Bargains:
Jarrett Jack, Nets ($4,000): Deron Williams is out, meaning that Jack will get starterās minutes. He has been on the verge of great when that happens. He needs to be in your lineup tonight.
Zach LaVine, Timberwolves ($5,100): I donāt particularly trust Mo Williams and his balky back. LaVine is a bit of a risk, but him and Williams should both put up solid numbers until one separates himself from the other.
Worth The Cost:
Russell Westbrook, Thunder ($11,000): Westbrook continues to be an absolute monster in fantasy. He has now hit 50 fantasy points in four of his last five games, and he has not been under 40 since December 2nd. There is no more reliable option in daily (or any) leagues right now.
John Wall, Wizards ($10,000): Wall has not been under 30 fantasy points since before Thanksgiving. He has had three games over 50 fantasy points, and five over 40 since that time. He continues to be a reliable option.
Risky Play:
Michael Carter-Williams, 76ers ($9,000): Carter-Williams has not been over 40 fantasy points in his last five games. That is a little under par for his price tag.
My Lineups:
A: Westbrook and Jack ($15,000)
B: Westbrook and Wall ($21,000)
Next: Lots Of Value At SG
Dec 15, 2014; Philadelphia, PA, USA; Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley (0) drives past Philadelphia 76ers guard Hollis Thompson (31) during the second half at Wells Fargo Center. The Celtics defeated the 76ers 105-87. Mandatory Credit: Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports
Shooting Guards:
Bargains:
Avery Bradley, Celtics ($4,400): It was Bradley, not Marcus Smart, that picked of most of the slack in the first game post-Rondo. Bradley had 38.5 fantasy points in 33 minutes against the Timberwolves on Friday. Some of it may have to do with the fact that the Timberwolves are a little weak at the guard spots with Ricky Rubio and Kevin Martin out, but it is also very possible that this is just the beginning of a nice run for Bradley until Smart shows he is capable of running the team.
Evan Fournier, Magic ($4,900): Fournier has averaged 26 fantasy points per game over his last five games. He has learned how to co-exist with Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton. If his price stays this low, he is a great option whenever the Magic take the court.
Worth The Cost:
Dwyane Wade, Heat ($8,700): Wade has dominated while Chris Bosh has been out. Bosh is out today as well, so expect Wade to kick in some big numbers again. He has averaged 42 fantasy points per game with Bosh out.
Joe Johnson, Nets ($6,500): Johnson has averaged 32 fantasy points over his last four games. He picked up a lot of scoring slack with Deron Williams out. He should do much of the same tonight as well.
Risky Play:
Eric Bledsoe, Suns ($7,400): Bledsoe had five straight games of under 30 fantasy points before his 45 point outburst yesterday. Those outbursts are not out of the question for Bledsoe, but he also has the ability to put up well below average numbers.
My Lineups:
A: Wade and Bradley ($13,100)
B: Johnson and Bradley ($10,900)
Next: Don't Overspend On SF's
Dec 19, 2014; Boston, MA, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad (15) looks to pass the ball during the second half against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. Mandatory Credit: Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports
Small Forwards:
Bargains:
Robert Covington, 76ers ($5,300): Covington has been between 22 and 37 fantasy points in every game over the last eight games except for one. He has also tallied 28 minutes or more in each of those games. He is clearly a big part of the 76ers rotation for at least the near future, and maybe longer.
Shabazz Muhammad, Timberwolves ($5,500): Muhammad was a monster in the first game since the Corey Brewer trade on Friday. He now has more than 30 fantasy points in each of his last three games. He is the primary scoring option for the Timberwolves with Kevin Martin and Nikola Pekovic out. He should continue to put up big numbers.
Worth The Cost:
Rudy Gay, Kings (8,700): Gay has been at or over 35 fantasy points in each of his last nine games. His Achilles is fine.
Tobias Harris, Magic ($7,000): You know the drill. Another game, another very consistent outing from Harris. Consistency wins money in FanDuel.
Risky Play:
Josh Smith, Pistons ($7,700): Smith has been under 30 fantasy points in each of his last three games, and in five of his last ten games. Do you feel like playing high or low tonight? You have a 50-50 chance with that as well.
My Lineups:
A and B: Covington and Muhammad ($10,800)
Next: Steep Dropoffs at PF?
Dec 8, 2014; Minneapolis, MN, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves forward Thaddeus Young (33) dribbles against Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (11) in the first quarter at Target Center. Mandatory Credit: Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports
Power Forwards:
Bargains:
Ryan Anderson, Pelicans($5,800): Yes, Anderson comes off of the bench, but he is one of the best sharpshooters around. His opportunities will always be there, but his value is kind of attached to scoring. That said he does have four straight games of 22 or more fantasy points. That makes him a value right now.
Ed Davis, Lakers ($4,400): Davis is a starter in name only. Carlos Boozer is the bigger fantasy contributor, and the more consistent option, but Davis had his best game of the year on Friday. Can he keep it up? Even if he doesnāt, whatever he gets you for $4,400 will likely be worth it.
Worth The Cost:
Serge Ibaka, Thunder ($7,100): Ibaka actually scored more fantasy points than his counterpart at PF, Anthony Davis, last night. That puts Ibaka at 24 or more fantasy points in four of his last five games. It seems like he is finally getting things going consistently after a mostly slow start.
Thaddeus Young, Timberwolves ($6,400): Young now has nine straight games of over 20 fantasy points, and is becoming the force in the frontcourt that the Timberwolves were hoping for when they got him in the Kevin Love deal. With not many mid-level options available tonight, Young is one of the better ones.
Risky Play:
Anthony Davis, Pelicans ($11,500): Any player with this price tag involves a certain amount of risk. However, it seems that Davis is either a beast an puts up well over 60, or he disappears and has 35 or less. That makes him a huge risk when you are blowing nearly 1/4 of your salary on one player. You have to have a big night from him. If you donāt you lose. Just like many of us did last night.
My Lineups:
A; Davis and Young ($10,800)
B: Jared Sullinger and Kevin Garnett ($11,300): Okay, so hereās the deal. I couldnāt afford any of the $6,400 options, and Ed Davis makes me nervous. So I decided to go a completely different route. Sullinger had a big game on Friday against Minnesota, and the potential is there for him to do it again against the Heat tonight. As far as KG, well, he is good for 20 points whenever he steps on the court. I will take that along with the risk to hopefully offset each other.
Next: Is Cousins Worth The Money?
Dec 18, 2014; Sacramento, CA, USA; Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins (15) reacts to a call during the second quarter of the game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Sleep Train Arena. Mandatory Credit: Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports
Center:
Bargain:
Kelly Olynyk, Celtics ($6,000): Olynyk is on a roll lately. He has eclipsed 20 fantasy points or more in five of his last six games. Yes, he has dominated some weaker teams in this stretch (Minnesota, Orlando, and Philadelphia), but he gets another bad one in a Bosh-less Heat team tonight. He is worth rolling with again for the damage that he is likely to do on the inside.
Worth The Cost:
DeMarcus Cousins ($10,100): Cousins had 44 fantasy points in his return to the court on Thursday. He got enough rest between games where he should be able to beĀ a dominant force against the doormat Lakers tonight. Play him with confidence!
Risky Play:
Andre Drummond, Pistons ($8,900): Drummond has been under 30 fantasy points four times in his last ten games. He has also been over 60 points twice. Anyone feeling lucky tonight? Against the Nets, it might not be such a bad bet.
My Lineups:
A: Cousins ($10,100)
B: Olynyk ($6,000)
