The Oakland Raiders won’t be moving to Los Angeles for the 2015 season as they’re set to announce a one-year stadium lease at O.co.

The good news, at least for those in the Bay Area? The Oakland Raiders aren’t going to be relocating for the 2015 season as they plan to announce a one-year lease extension in the coming days.
The bad news? Oakland Raiders fans will likely be subjected to yet another year of relocation rumors as it doesn’t appear the franchise is any closer to getting a new stadium.
On Saturday morning, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell all bug stated no team will be relocating to Los Angeles for the 2015 so the announcement of the one-year stadium lease is all but a formality considering the Raiders’ current lease is set to expire.
Granted the Oakland Raiders could have attempted to play elsewhere, perhaps at Cal Berkley or even attempted to share Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara with the San Francisco 49ers if they really wanted out of O.co Coliseum, but that’s simply too much work with the future of the franchise in limbo.
Hopefully for those in the Bay Area, with the NFL all but announcing no franchise will be moving this offseason, the extra year will allow Mark Davis and the city of Oakland to figure out some type of resolution to get the organization a much needed new venue.
That may be rather difficult though considering the Oakland A’s recently signed a 10-year lease with O.co, which won’t have the city jumping through hoops to keep the Raiders shameful as that is.
