Aaron Rodgers Can’t Guarantee Week 17 Playing Status
By Evan Massey
Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers couldn’t guarantee his Week 17 playing status.
The Green Bay Packers are heading into a winner-take-all situation in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions to decide the NFC North champion. If the Packers are able to come out on top, they will take home the NFC North title as well as the second overall seed in the NFC — which includes a bye week.

Aaron Rodgers injured his calf during Week 16, and ended up being hobbled a bit throughout. Now, there is some concern that he could miss Week 17, as he was unable to guarantee his playing status.
Rodgers is usually the type of guy that will promise to play through injuries, but that was not the case this week.
Take a look at the comments that he did make about next week’s status following the calf injury.
"“I’ll be OK for next week. (I) hurt my calf pretty good, but the training staff helped me kind of get through it. Just put some heat on and just tried to push through it. It’s too early to give a 100 percent guarantee, but it would definitely take a lot to hold me out of that game.”"
Many believe that Rodgers, who has thrown for 4,155 yards, 36 touchdowns, and just five interceptions this season, should be the front-runner to win NFL MVP.
His absence on Sunday would be huge.
This will be a very interesting — and important — situation to monitor.
