Detroit Lions center and noted dirty player, Dominic Raiola, is expecting a one-game suspension for stomping on the foot of Chicago Bears defensive tackle Ego Ferguson on Sunday.

The Lions are cornering the market on receiving suspensions for stomping on the opponent. Three years after Ndamukong Suh was suspended two games for stomping on Evan Dietrich-Smith during a Thanksgiving Day game against the Green Bay Packers, Lions center Dominic Raiola could be experiencing a similar fate after stomping on the foot of Ego Ferguson in the win against the Bears.

Raiola said this stomp was unintentional, via ESPN, after the game.

“It was totally unintentional,” Raiola said. “I remember I was stumbling out. I didn’t see the end of it. I apologized at the end of the game, told him it was unintentional and we shook hands and that was it.”

Here’s the stomp. Does it look unintentional to you?

No word has come down from the NFL disciplinary offices just yet but the expectation is that’s only a matter of time as the Lions have told Raiola to brace for the likelihood of a one-game suspension, according to Fox Sports’ Mike Garafolo.

Raiola is expected to appeal if there is a suspension handed down. Rookie Travis Swanson would start in place of Raiola if there is indeed a suspension and he’s out for the NFC North championship game against the Packers.
