When the Phoenix Suns signed Isaiah Thomas away from the Sacramento Kings this past offseason, many questioned the fit.
It seemed as if the point guard himself wondered how he, Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic would all get enough minutes. Alas, the Phoenix Suns were able to convince the Tacoma native to sign on the dotted line and he hasn’t disappointed, putting up impressive numbers despite doing much of his damage off the bench.
Still, the pint-sized point appears a bit frustrated with how things have shaken out.
“I really tried to envision how it would really work, ’cause it didn’t make sense. But when they put it on paper and they told me I was going to be a big part of what they do here, I believed them. I felt like they were genuine.”
Thomas continued on.
“When I signed here I thought we’d be playing a lot together. Maybe that changes.”
While playing Dragic, Bledsoe and Thomas together makes for an extremely talented offensive backcourt, it also makes them very small and the worry is they won’t be able to hold their own on the defensive end for long stretches.
For what it’s worth, Isaiah Thomas did fire his agent on the first day players signed during the past offseason were eligible to be traded, though the point guard still seems committed to the Phoenix Suns despite some apparent irritation.
