Andy Dalton Sent Home From Practice With Illness

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton was sent home early from practice on Wednesday feeling ill.

Although, it does not appear to be that serious, Andy Dalton was went home from the Bengals team practice on Wednesday due to illness. Coach Marvin Lewis reportedly is not terribly concerned about his quarterback’s availability this coming Sunday, according to ESPN NFL reporter Coley Harvey.

That game will be to decide the champion of the AFC North. The match-up will take place in Pittsburgh as the Steelers look to dethrone last year’s division champs.

Dalton, while not performing as sharply as last season, is still having a relatively productive season. His numbers might be their lowest since his rookie campaign, however, the team has played well around him and currently sits in first place with a 10-4-1 record.

Dalton being probable for Sunday night is highly important as the team will also be looking at wide receiver AJ Green, who injured his shoulder Monday night against the Denver Broncos.

Having a healthy Dalton would somewhat be able to mitigate the potential blow of losing Green.

Should Dalton somehow be unable to go on Sunday, back up Jason Campbell would get the nod. The 10 year veteran has completed just 11 of 19 passes this season for 74 yards, however, he did start 8 games for the Cleveland Browns last season, throwing for 2,015 yards, 11 TD, 8 INT, with a passer rating of 76.9.
