The NFL season is winding down as we head into the final week of regular season games and the totals from jersey sales are coming in. It might not be a big surprise, but Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel sold more jerseys this season then any other, according to the Jersey Report, which tracks the sales of NFL jerseys at DICK’s Sporting Goods stores around the nation and online.
The Cleveland Browns have had a pretty successful season by their standards, contending for a playoff spot earlier in the season before the wheels fell off the wagon. Manziel obviously was a big part of that despite his little playing time, Manziel got two start late in the season and but was injured in the second.
Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins comes in second place. The rest next two players on the list are quarterbacks, Jacksonville Jaguars’ Blake Bortles coming in third and Minnesota Vikings’ Teddy Bridgewater coming in fourth.
Both Bridgewater and Bortles had considerably more playing time than Manziel and arguably performed better in their rookie seasons.
