The Cleveland Browns finally gave rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel a chance to start after losing faith in Brian Hoyer. It was pretty disastrous to say the least, including a huge shut out loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
In his rookie season Manziel completed just 18 of 35 passes for 175 yards. He also threw two interceptions and had a fumble, but said it would be unfair for the Browns to give up on him after less than two games.

Manziel is getting the support of his head coach, Mike Pettine, in that regard.
“He’s a player on our roster,” Pettine said, via ESPN. “He’ll have the chance to compete.”
It certainly is logical to give Manziel another chance and not give up on him after such a brief sampling size. It isn’t like he has been Geno Smith stinking it up for two years with the Jets.
Still, with the way Brian Hoyer’s season ended he could get a real shot at winning the starting job in the offseason. If Manziel can rededicate himself like he suggested he needs to, it could be an interesting 2015 for the Browns.
