A Cleveland Cavaliers fan frustrated with the play of Kevin Love started a petition to trade the All-Star power forward.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

When the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Kevin Love this past offseason, he was thought by many to be the piece that would help the franchise get over the proverbial hump.

So far that hasn’t exactly worked as planned as despite holding a very solid 17-11 record, the Cleveland Cavaliers are considered by many to be somewhat of a disappoint. There’s still a significant amount of the regular season left and that could quickly change, but for now it’s possible expectations on the team and Kevin Love himself were placed too high.

Perhaps that’s why somebody decided to put a Kevin Love trade petition on Change.org.

Of course, the person behind the posting says the petition was not meant to be taken seriously.

"Dec 26, 2014 — this obviously blew up a lot so I’ll repeat what I said yesterday: THIS PETITION IS A JOKE. If people would stop berating Cleveland fans and treat this for what it is (a joke), that would be great. Christ, people are gullible.-OE"

It’s doubtful many took the petition seriously but it does speak to some of the frustrations of fans who expected both Kevin Love and the Cavs to play at a higher level.

Of course, as we’ve seen before, it often can take months for teams and newly acquired players to get their footing under them and it’s very possible the Cleveland Cavaliers are experiencing such.

Despite a less than expected record, the Cavaliers are still playing decent basketball and have played much better as a unit over the past month in comparison to the first few weeks of the season – including Kevin Love.
