Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For December 28th

There are only five games that are eligible for the big tournaments today, but that doesn’t mean that there is any shortage of star power. Though with two of such stars listed as a game time decision, it could make building a lineup somewhat difficult.

Here are my FanDuel lineups for December 28th:

Point Guards:

Bargains:

Cory Joseph, Spurs ($5,200): Tony Parker is still out, which means that Cory Joseph is still a nice bargain play. Joseph has only been under 20 fantasy points twice in the 12 games that he has started for Parker. He is somewhat less of a bargain at $5,200, but with a lack a superior bargains at PG, Joseph is a nice play.

Patrick Beverley, Rockets ($6,100): Beverley has averaged 28 fantasy points per game in the nine games since his return to the lineup. You won’t get much more consistency out of a bargain play than that.

Worth The Cost:

Russell Westbrook, Thunder ($11,800): Westbrook’s 38.9 fantasy point effort Friday was his worst of the month of December. That should tell you what kind of roll he is on.

Damian Lillard, Trailblazers ($9,300): Lillard has an impressive 108.2 fantasy points over his last two games, and he gets to play the Knicks tonight. He might even be a stronger play than Westbrook!

Risky Play:

Goran Dragic, Suns ($7,200): His matchup against the Lakers is appetizing, but he has been under 25 fantasy pointsĀ  twice in the last five games. He might be worth the risk for what could be a huge reward though.

My Lineups:

A: Lillard and Joseph ($14,500)
B: Westbrook and Joseph ($17,000)

Next: Tough Picks At SG

Shooting Guards:

Bargains:

Tim Hardaway Jr, Knicks ($5,400): Hardaway continues to put up some nice production for the money. He has averaged 23 fantasy points a game over his last eight contests. He ceiling is somewhat low, but he usually won’t hurt you either.

Lou Williams, Raptors ($4,900): Lou Will is always somewhat of a risk due to the fact that he is mostly a shooter, but the fact remains that he has been over 20 fantasy points in eight of his last 11 games. He hits more than he misses.

Worth The Cost:

James Harden, Rockets ($11,400): Gamble against Harden at your own risk. He has a whopping four 60+ fantasy point games in his last ten, including two in a row. He has only been under 40 once in December. That kind of production is hard to come by with this low of a risk.

Eric Bledsoe, Suns ($7,900): He is finally settling into a role in Phoenix, and his production has taken off. Bledsoe has averaged 39 fantasy points per game over his last four outings, and he gets the Lakers tonight.

Risky Play:

Arron Afflalo, Nuggets ($5,200): Afflalo has not gone over 25 fantasy points since December 14th against the Spurs. He was even under 20 twice in that span. But I like hisĀ matchup against the Raptors. His minutes have been consistent, but his production hasn’t.

My Lineups:

A: Harden and Afflalo ($16,600)

B: Harden and Danny Green ($17,500): Green has been getting a good run with Kawhi Leonard out.

Next: Making The Best Of Limited Options At SF

Dec 27, 2014; Sacramento, CA, USA; New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony (7) looks on from the court against the Sacramento Kings in the fourth quarter at Sleep Train Arena. The Kings won 135-129 in overtime. Mandatory Credit: Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Small Forwards:

Bargain:

Terrence Ross, Raptors ($4,600): Ross has four straight 20+ fantasy point games. He is not an elite option by any means, but he is doing pretty well right now, and has the potential to explode in any given game. I will take the chance when he is putting up 20’s anyway.

Worth The Cost:

Carmelo Anthony, Knicks ($9,400): Melo has been at or over 38 fantasy points in each of the last seven games he hasĀ played in. His back doesn’t seem to be flaring up, so he is good to go with. Especially since there aren’t many good options at SF tonight.

Risky Plays:

Kevin Durant, Thunder ($10,100): He is listed as probable for tonight, but I still don’t trust him. He has just one game of over 40 fantasy points so far this season. Why would that change now when he will likely be rusty from yet another absence?

Wilson Chandler, Nuggets ($5,600): Chandler has been under 25 fantasy points in six of his last ten games. In fact, he justĀ stopped a three game sub-20 streak last night. The Nuggets are simply a better team with Chandler on the court, so I am hoping that his nights of sub-30 minutes are over.

My Lineups:

A: Anthony and Ross ($14,000)

B: Ross and Trevor Ariza ($10,400): Ariza seemed to play better with Josh Smith in the lineup. Hopefully that is a sign of things to come.

Next: Should You Gamble At PF?

Dec 19, 2014; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Los Angeles Lakers forward Ed Davis (21) dunks the ball in front of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka (9) and forward Nick Collison (4) at Staples Center. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forwards:

Bargains:

Ed Davis Lakers ($5,100): Davis has averaged 31 fantasy points per game over his last three games, and is doing very well in his starting role. Well enough to hold off veteran Carlos Boozer.

Kenneth Faried, Nuggets ($5,600): Have the Nuggets finally wised up? Faried has been dominant over his last two games, putting up an impressive 97.3 fantasy points in those contests. If he keeps getting minutes, he is hands down the best bargain in the game right now.

Worth The Cost:

Serge Ibaka, Thunder ($7,100): Serge has put up three consecutive 30 fantasy point outings, and has topped that mark in four of his last six. This after only breaking 30 three times in the season’s first month. The emergence of Steven Adams has given him some help up front, and Ibaka is responding..

Tim Duncan, Spurs ($9,100): Duncan played back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday. I wont say that he will rest tonight, but he may be limited. Still, a limited Duncan is still a good bet to approach 40 fantasy points.

Risky Play:

Donatas Motiejunas, Rockets ($5,600): Motiejunas still carved out 30 minutes with Josh Smith in the lineup, but as Smith gets more comfortable with his new teammates, a few guys are going to lose minutes. Motiejunas is one of them.

My Lineups:

A and B: Faried and Davis ($10,700)

Next: Go Cheap At Center

Dec 21, 2014; Washington, DC, USA; Phoenix Suns center Alex Len (21) dunks during the third quarter against the Washington Wizards at Verizon Center. Phoenix Suns defeated Washington Wizards 104-92. Mandatory Credit: Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargains:

Steven Adams, Thunder ($5,100): Adams now has five consecutive games of more than 20 fantasy points. He even topped the 40 point plateau in one of them. The Thunder are putting together a good combination of Adams in Ibaka in the frontcourt, and it is making both of them relevant in fantasy.

Alex Len, Suns ($4,200): Len has averaged 25 fantasy points per game over his last six games, and he is still this cheap. Wow!

Worth The Cost:

Jonas Valanciunas, Raptors ($6,200): There is a shortage of reliable top option at center tonight. Jonas is the best of them right now, topping 30 fantasy points in each of his last two games.

Risky Play:

Dwight Howard, Rockets ($9,500): Howard scored only 17.2 fantasy points on Friday night. That kind of an outing will destroy your lineup when you get that from such a high priced guy.

My Lineups:

A and B: Len ($4,200)
