LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers got thrown around today by the last place Detroit Pistons.

More from LeBron James

On Sunday, as playoff madness unfolded in the NFL, LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers fell hard to a pretty bad NBA team.

Losing to this caliber-type team is bad enough, but losing in your own building is alarming. Now coupled with their December 17th blowout loss at home to the Atlanta Hawks, it raises major cause for concern.

The Cavs held a 33-17 lead early in the second quarter before the Pistons took over.

Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings was a monster, scoring 25 points and dishing out six assists. He helped Detroit go on an 18-0 run in the second quarter which blew the doors off this one. Big man Andre Drummond scored 16 and gathered 17 rebounds.

James was visibly frustrated, especially after getting hit in the hip late in the first half. Although he appeared to be in some discomfort, he started the second half with no issues to speak of. He finished the day with 17 points on a very “Un-King” like five of 19 shooting from the field.

Kevin Love’s production seemed to be the only bright-spot on a Cleveland offense severely lacking. He poured in 20 on nine of 19 shooting including 10 rebounds.

The Cavs were without starting point guard Kyrie Irving for the second consecutive game as he continues to suffer from that bruised left knee.

The real issue for Cleveland came down to perimeter defense. They yielded an incredible 17 three-pointers, five to Jennings alone. Detroit shot 17 of 31 from the land of three on the day, a 54.8%.

The Cavs now drop to 18-12 on the season, three games behind the Central Division leading Chicago Bulls.
