Although many reports suggest Jim Harbaugh will be hired by the Michigan Wolverines, the Oakland Raiders remain interested in making him their head coach.

Despite a flurry of reports suggesting San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh will be hired by the Michigan Wolverines in the coming days, some of the most plugged in NFL minds continue to hint no deal is official and there’s still a possibility things could change.
That seems rather unlikely, though we’ve seen a shadow of uncertainty cast upon Harbaugh before when he was weighing offers from both the San Francisco 49ers and Stanford.
Given that, those interested in hiring Jim Harbaugh as their next head coach haven’t given up on the chase. That includes the Oakland Raiders, according to Pro Football Talk.
"Jay Glazer of FOX Sports echoes the report from Adam Schefter of ESPN that Harbaugh to Michigan is not a done deal. Both also report that the Raiders have not given up on Harbaugh as the team’s next head coach."
Harbaugh has achieved significant success at both levels so you have to think his decision will likely come down mostly to fit and money.
It’s been previously stated that Jim Harbaugh’s wife would prefer not to leave the Bay Area which gives some hope to those believing he could coach the Oakland Raiders though given his history with the Michigan program, it seems many believe that will be his ultimate destination.
Still it doesn’t appear as if the Oakland Raiders are willing to concede defeat just yet and we’ve seen coaches across professional sports have a last minute change of heart before.
Such occurring in this case seems rather unlikely but until the papers are signed there’s no reason for the Raiders to give up the chase.
