Patrick DiMarco Sums Up Atlanta Falcons In One Play (Video)
By Phil Watson
The Atlanta Falcons had a chance to get into the end zone, with fullback Patrick DiMarco wide open in the flat. Matt Ryan threw the ball and … CLANK!
So the Atlanta Falcons apparently don’t play fullback Patrick DiMarco because of his soft hands.
On a second-and-goal from the Carolina Panthers’ 3-yard line and already trailing 10-0, DiMarco was wide open in the flat and appeared ready to walk into the end zone for an Atlanta touchdown.
At least, until the ball hit his hands.
The Falcons instead settled for a field goal on the drive after Ryan’s third-down pass to Roddy White was incomplete as well.

By halftime the Panthers led 24-3 in the de facto playoff game for the NFC South title and fans were streaming out of the Georgia Dome already.
Carolina (6-8-1) or Atlanta (6-9) will be just the second team in NFL history to win a division title with a losing record, joining the 2010 Seattle Seahawks.
The winner of this game will also host a Wild Card Playoff game next week.
Home teams with losing records are 1-0 in that round of the playoffs. Seattle knocked off the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints 41-36 before losing at Chicago 35-24 in the divisional round.
For the season, DiMarco does have nine receptions in 13 targets for 62 yards and a touchdown.
