5. Oakland Raiders

One destination that makes sense for Rex Ryan is the Oakland Raiders, who are expected to be shopping around for a new head coach this offseason. They have a very talented quarterback in Derek Carr, and a solid all-around roster surrounding him.

Ryan would be able to head into Oakland and be the voice in the locker room that the Raiders have been needing. His cocky attitude would bring the type of arrogant nature that Oakland hasn’t seen in quite some time, and he is known for building up defenses. The Raiders have plenty of young pieces to work with, and they need a head coach with experience that knows what he’s doing.

Oakland isn’t too  far away from competing for a playoff spot if they play their cards right, but they can’t afford to keep switching coaches every other season.

If the Raiders do end up getting Ryan, it would have to be a long-term commitment where they are willing to be patient with the building process. Ryan knows how to turn teams around, but he needs the ownership to be on the same page with him. Don’t be surprised to see Ryan’s name come up in rumors involving the Raiders.
