Calvin Johnson Leads Detroit Lions In Jersey Sales For 2014 Season
By Evan Massey
Detroit Lions superstar wide receiver Calvin Johnson led the team in jersey sales during the 2014 season, and also finished 24th in the entire league.
The Detroit Lions are coming off of a disappointing loss on the road against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field by a final score of 30-20, but Calvin Johnson came through with yet another big game. As usual, he has come through with a huge season and is a big reason that the Lions are in the playoffs. He has dealt with some injury concerns this year, but has battled through them to put up another great statistical year.

Johnson ended up catching 71 passes for 1,077 yards and eight touchdowns on the season. Those numbers are solid, especially with all of the issues that he went through as far as his health.
According to the DICK’s Sporting Goods and their Jersey Report, Johnson led the Lions in jersey sales and was also ranked the 24th jersey seller in the entire league.
There aren’t many playmakers in the NFL that are as entertaining to watch as Johnson, and Matthew Stafford has the perfect type of arm to get the most out of him. If the football is anywhere near him, Johnson will find a way to make a play on it and reel it in. Without him on the roster, the Lions likely wouldn’t be getting prepared to play in the playoffs this coming week.
At 29 years of age, Johnson’s career is speeding by but he still has a few good years left in him. He has seen a lot of work throughout his eight-year NFL career, and is a fan favorite all across the league.
Detroit will need him to step up in a big way in the playoffs for them to have a chance to pull off a win in Dallas. Johnson is more than capable of putting his team on his shoulders, as he has shown many times in the past.
