Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For December 29th

There are six games on tap in the NBA tonight, which gives us good chances to create a winning roster.

Here are my FanDuel lineups for December 29th:

Dec 26, 2014; Boston, MA, USA; Brooklyn Nets guard Jarrett Jack (0) looks to his bench after hitting a shot during the second half of the Nets

Point Guards:

Bargains:

Jarrett Jack, Nets ($5,600): Jack is still starting over Deron Williams, and is still lighting it up, as our Bobby Moodispaugh noted in his waiver piece this week.Ā Jack has averaged 36 fantasy points per game over the last four games. He is obviously the best option that the Nets have. Hopefully they see that too.

George Hill, Pacers ($5,100): Hill is back in the starting lineup, and his minutes are starting to increase. He is not where he will be, but he can still be a good bargain for 5k. His points have increased with his minutes, so I am guessing that he will be in the mid to high 20’s.

Worth The Cost:

Kemba Walker, Hornets ($8,300): Walker had one of the best games of his young career on Saturday, lighting up the Magic for 42 points. He has been over 30 fantasy points in nine of his last eleven games. The bad part is that he was under 20 in those two gamest that he was not over 30.

Risky Play:

Chris Paul, Clippers ($10,100): CP3 was under 30 fantasy points again on Saturday. That is the fourth time in the last ten games that this has happened to Paul. He still has the ability to dazzle, but those off games are a little too frequent for me at the moment.

My Lineups:

A: Jack and Hill ($10,700)

B: Jack and Patrick Beverley ($11,600): Beverley has consistently been in the high 20’s or low 30’s for fantasy points. He has little to no upside, but the consistency is enticing.

Next: Options Galore At SG

Shooting Guards:

Bargains:

Jamal Crawford, Clippers ($5,600): Crawford is about as streaky as they come, so you have to ride him while he is hot. Crawford has averaged 29 fantasy points per game over his last six games. He will still concede about 20-25 minutes to J.J. Redick on any given night, but for his price, you could do worse. And he is still a threat to throw up a big line in there somewhere.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks ($6,300): His 19 minutes and 11 fantasy point effort on Saturday has put some people off the scent, but not me. For one, it was foul trouble and not Jason Kidd’s rotation roulette that limited his minutes. Giannis had played over 30 minutes in his last four games prior to Saturday, and averaged 27 fantasy points per game over that span. You can expect him to be around that range tonight against Charlotte.

Worth The Cost:

Jimmy Butler, Bulls ($9,300): Butler has had one off game in December. Don’t let that scare you away from one of the premier scorers right now. The return of Derrick Rose only seems to have helped, and he has a good matchup against the Pacers tonight.

Dwyane Wade, Heat ($9,200): Wade has scored 99.6 fantasy points in his last two games. With Bosh out, Wade has stepped up his scoring and everything else. He is carrying the team, and BoshĀ may not play his full compliment of minutes tonight. He is one of the better plays of the night.

Risky Play:

Evan Fournier, Magic ($4,700): Fournier is still the top backup at both guard positions, and has even played some at SF since the return of Victor Oladipo. The Magic are rewarding him for his great play early on, and he still sees 30+ minutes a game, making him a solid option. It doesn’t come without risk, however. He has been over 20 fantasy points in half of his last ten games. Two of those efforts have resulted in under 10 fantasy points.

My Lineups:

A: Butler and Wade ($18,500)

B: Wade and Antetokounmpo ($15,500)

Next: Lots Of Options At SF As Well

Dec 18, 2014; Sacramento, CA, USA; Milwaukee Bucks guard Jared Dudley (9) runs up the court after scoring a basket against the Sacramento Kings during the first quarter at Sleep Train Arena. Small Forwards:

Bargains:

Jared Dudley, Bucks ($4,800): Dudley has surpassed Khris Middleton in the SF race, and is outplaying nearly everyone else on the team along with it. He has averaged 28 fantasy points per game since Jabari Parker went down. He is still a steal at this price.

Gerald Henderson, Hornets ($3,800): With Lance Stephenson still out, and Gary Neal likely out for tonight’s game, Henderson will be given as many minutes as he can handle. He is inconsistent, but he also won’t have anyone breathing down his neck for playing time tonight.

Worth The Cost:

Rudy Gay, Kings ($8,600): Gay has now been over 30 fantasy points in every game since his return to the court on November 28th.

Tobias Harris, Magic ($7,100): Harris is another guy that just does not seem to have off games. He has not been under 20 fantasy points in December. If you can get both Gay and Harris, you have a consistent SF lineup tonight.

Risky Play:

Corey Brewer, Rockets ($5,500): With Josh Smith now in the lineup every night, Brewer will have a harder time carving out minutes. He will likely be the primary backup to James Harden and Trevor Ariza, but both of them are on the court a lot. Brewer’s minutes could dip even more, but he is always a threat to score.

My Lineups:

A: Dudley and Harris ($11,900)

B: Dudley and Gay ($13,400)

Next: Should You Spend On Blake Griffin?

December 27, 2014; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin (32) scores a basket against the Toronto Raptors during the second half at Staples Center. Mandatory Credit: Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forwards:

Bargains:

David West, Pacers ($6,800): West is not the elite option that he once was, but that doesn’t mean that he is not still a good player. West has had nine straight games of 25 or more fantasy points, and is showing now signs of slowing down. He won’t put up any games in the 50’s anymore, but even when he misses, he is still in the mid-20’s.

Taj Gibson, Bulls ($6,300): Gibson is not performing at the level that he was at before his injury, but he is still a good bet for 25 or more points per game.

Worth The Cost:

Blake Griffin, Clippers ($10,200): Griffin has only been under 40 fantasy points once in his last eight games. If you don’t trust Harden after last night’s game, Griffin is a suitable plan B.

Pau Gasol, Bulls ($8,800): Gasol has not been back to the elite level that he was at prior to his injury, but he does have three 40+ point fantasy games in his last six games. Given the way that the Indiana frontcourt has been pushed around, there is a good chance that Pau goes over that threshold tonight.

Risky Play:

Kris Humphries, Wizards ($4,900): Humphries seems to have wrestled the starting job back from Nene again with his 63.5 fantasy points in his last two games. He still poses somewhat of a risk because Nene will continue to see quite a few minutes, often at the expense of Humphries.

My Lineups:

A: Gibson and Josh Smith ($14,000): Josh Smith is in the starting lineup for the Rockets, and seems to be rejuvenated. I still don’t know if playing at PF is his best bet, but you can’t argue with the results so far.

B: West and Smith ($14,500)

Next: Do You Go Cheap At C?

Dec 27, 2014; Sacramento, CA, USA; Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins (15) stands on the court against the New York Knicks in the fourth quarter at Sleep Train Arena. The Kings won 135-129 in overtime. Mandatory Credit: Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargain:

Zaza Pachulia, Bucks ($4,800): Larry Sanders is still out tonight, and Pachulia has put up 64.1 fantasy points in his two starts in place of Sanders. He is a great, cheap option right now.

Worth The Cost:

DeMarcus Cousins, Kings ($11,700): When he is on the court, he is a monster. In his last four games, Cousins has averaged 46 fantasy points per game. There is little risk involved here, so feel free to spend to get Cousins.

Risky Play:

Chris Bosh, Heat ($8,500): There is a chance that this could end up being a bargain for Bosh, but do you want to spend that money on a gamble? The Heat need him, so he might not be back to 100% yet, which means he might not play his full compliment of minutes. There is just too much uncertainty for me to spend on Bosh tonight.

My Lineups:

A and B: Pachulia ($4,800)
