Would the Cleveland Cavaliers have courted head coach David Blatt if they had known LeBron James was willing to leave the Miami Heat and return to his former franchise? That’s a question pondered by many though nobody really knows the answer.
There’s no denying there has been some oddities occuring with the Cavaliers, especially in the huddle where James often appears to be the one coaching the team, not Blatt. All of this, combined with the “struggles” has some believing there is tension between LeBron James and David Blatt though the Cleveland Cavaliers star suggests it’s nothing of the sort.
It’s not exactly easy to coach a player like James, let alone with so many expectations placed on the franchise. Add in that Blatt is making his head coaching debut in the NBA and it makes for a rather shaky scenario as many probably would have preferred the Cavs bring in a veteran NBA coach, not a veteran European coach.
Regardless, what has happened has happened and now it’s on Blatt and the Cleveland Cavaliers to make things right.
Often where there is smoke, fire can usually be found so you can’t help but wonder if there is more to the report of a disconnect between LeBron James and his head coach. For now though the two are saying all the right things and trying to make a tough situation appear as amicable as possible.
