Although LeSean McCoy was overshadowed by a fellow NFC East running back this season, DeMarco Murray of the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles franchise rusher was still a force to be reckoned with. Such was not only evident on the field but also in his jersey sales as he lead the Eagles in such during the 2014 campaign.
Even more impressive? McCoy had the best selling jersey of any running back in the NFL, ranking sixth overall in jersey sales.
One of the more stable players in the league, sales of LeSean McCoy’s jersey rivaled the player as he routinely had one of the better selling jerseys throughout the season according to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report.
Perhaps one of the most interesting aspects regarding LeSean McCoy’s jersey sales was who was actually buying his uniform. While 44 percent of the sales were men sized jerseys, another 44 percent were actually in youth sizes while the remaining 12 percent were sold to women.
Clearly not only is LeSean McCoy a favorite of adult Philadelphia Eagles fans, but he’s also has one of the more youth oriented jerseys in the NFL.
McCoy’s jersey of course sold well in the Pennsylvania area where the vast majority of his sales came from.
In addition to McCoy, quarterback Nick Foles, tight end Zach Ertz and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin all had strong jersey sales as well. Backup quarterback Mark Sanchez, who took over for the injured Foles, also sold well and saw a spike in California sales. Sanchez’s jersey also sold well to women, much better than McCoy’s.
