New England Patriots lineman Marcus Cannon channeled Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks and gave standard answers during his postgame interview.

More from New England Patriots

You probably recall Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch going through a postgame interview a few weeks back, all but refusing to answer questions.

Lynch routinely answered “yeah”, “nope” or “thanks for asking” and now it appears New England Patriots offensive lineman Marcus Cannon has done the same.

While not nearly as high profile as Lynch, Cannon decided to emulate the running back with a similar postgame comments on Sunday afternoon.

We played football today,” Cannon said initially. “We had a football game today.”

Questioned about the offensive line, Cannon stated, “We snapped the ball.”

Then, the Patriots player had enough:  “I answered two questions, right?  I can’t get fined now.”

The NFL hasn’t fined Lynch or Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson, who both have attempted to shun the media in recent weeks, though this is apparently becoming somewhat of an epidemic. It was one thing when it was just Marshawn Lynch being Marshawn Lynch, but now with relatively unknown offensive lineman pulling the same shenanigans it’s likely the league will act on those who attempt to avoid media responsibilities.

Of course, the NFL is in a bit of a difficult spot as the players aren’t completely abandoning the process, rather just making it overly difficult on all involved.

Given that, it should be interesting to see what the NFL plans to do as players are technically following the rules, but are clearly doing what they can to skirt around the process.

The most ironic part of it all is that most probably don’t care what Marcus Cannon has to say, especially in comparison to Marshawn Lynch or even C.J. Anderson.
