Jerseys of NFL defensive players didn’t sell as well as their offensive counterparts during the 2014 season, but they still put up some impressive numbers.

While most love to watch defensive, there’s no denying the NFL is a league sparked by offense. Scoring points is the way of life in the NFL and such is evident in the jersey sales of top players, most of whom play on the offensive side of the ball.

That said, defensive players held their own this season and despite only having one defender crack the overall top ten, plenty of Pro Bowl defensive talents had hot selling jerseys.

The best of all defensive players was Luke Kuechly of the Carolina Panthers who had the fifth best selling jersey in the NFL during the 2014 season according to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report.

Next on the list was Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, who ranked as the 22nd best selling jersey in the league. Not far behind the man with the beautiful hair was Cleveland Browns defensive back Joe Haden who ranked as the third best selling defensive player jersey and 28th best overall.

Jason Pierre-Paul of the New York Giants came in fourth on the defensive player list with Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks rounding out the top five.

Coming in as the 6th best selling defensive jersey was Ryan Kerrigan of the Washington Redskins who was then followed by Von Miller of the Denver Broncos and Clay Matthews of the Green Bay Packers who placed 7th and 8th respectively.

Rounding out the top ten were Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens and Jared Allen of the Chicago Bears.

A few notable names missing from the list included Patrick Willis and NaVarro Bowman of the San Francisco 49ers, both of whom missed a significant portion of the 2014 season (or in Bowman’s case the entire year).
