Detroit Lions Defend Ndamukong Suh Amid Appeal
By Cory Buck
Detroit Lions players defended teammate Ndamukong Suh, who was suspended for the team’s wild card game after Suh stepped on the calf of Aaron Rodgers.
Unless an appeal hearing takes an unexpected turn, the Detroit Lions will face the NFL‘s best rushing attack without their best rush defender. Now teammates are lining up to defend their boy, Ndamukong Suh, after Suh was suspended for inflicting injury upon the calf of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Their claim? Suh has been a model citizen this season and thus deserving of a break on the eve of the team’s biggest game in years.

“We’re frustrated by the whole situation,” defensive end Darryl Tapp told the Detroit Free Press. “Like I said, we don’t feel like it was intentional. We all know what kind of person Suh is. He hasn’t been in any kind of trouble this year, so just something we got to take it as it comes and move forward.”
The Lions sport the league’s number 2 defense against the run, which is useful when you play the Dallas Cowboys, who have the league’s leading rusher to go with a potent, balanced offense that will have the benefit of home field advantage.
Ted Cottrell will adjudicate Suh’s appeal hearing, which could be good news for the Lions tackle. Cottrell oversaw the last overturned suspension, which saw Ed Reed return to the field in 2012. The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
