Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For December 30th

It is a busy night in the NBA tonight with ten games on tap. That means that there are several options, but who should you spend on?

Here are my FanDuel lineups for December 30th:

Point Guards:

Bargains:

Cory Joseph, Spurs ($5,400): Stop me if you’ve heard this before. Tony Parker is out yet again. Patty Mills will get some minutes behind Joseph, but it is hard to argue with how effective Joseph has been. He has a string of six straight 20 fantasy point games in starts (Tony Parker started once in that span). He is still a bargain.

Jarrett Jack, Nets ($5,600): Jack is flourishing in the starting role for the Nets. Deron Williams says he is fine with the bench role, but we will see how long that lasts. Still, the Nets are in the Eastern Conference, which means that they still have a shot at the playoffs. They still have to put their best lineup out there for the time being. That lineup includes Jack, who has averaged 32 fantasy points per game over his last six games.

Worth The Cost:

Kyle Lowry, Raptors ($9,900): Lowry has seven 40+ fantasy point games in his last ten games. He is picking up a lot of the slack for the injured DeMar DeRozan. He has been arguably the most consistent option at PG over the last month.

Ty Lawson, Nuggets ($8,900): Lawson has averaged 41 fantasy points per game over his last three games. Any problems that he had with his back seem to have subsided for now.

Risky Play:

Mo Williams, Timberwolves ($5,500): Zach LaVine is still starting, but Williams still sees about as many minutes as LaVine does. The problem is that he is not doing a lot with those minutes lately. In the six games since his return from injury, he has two games of under 10 fantasy points. The presence of LaVine limits Williams’ value in daily games, and vice versa. You should probably avoid this whole situation until a clear cut starter emerges.

My Lineups:

A: Joseph and Jack ($11,000)

B: Lowry and Jack ($15,500)

Shooting Guards:

Bargains:

Lou Williams, Raptors ($5,200): He had a monster game against the Nuggets on Sunday, scoring 31 points and 42 fantasy points. That is the only problem with Lou Will: he is point dependant. That said, he does have more than 20 fantasy points in four of his last five games, and so long as he is playing 25+ minutes a game, he should continue in that range.

Victor Oladipo, Magic ($6,100): Oladipo has averaged 29 fantasy points per game in the three games since he shed his protective mask. Now is the time where he is a bargain. He should come close to his production of last year starting very soon.

Worth The Cost:

Jimmy Butler, Bulls ($9,300): Butler has put up back-to-back 48 fantasy point games, and has been over 35 fantasy points in all but two of his last ten games. Butler has actually done better with the Bulls at full strength, not worse as some had predicted.

Eric Bledsoe, Suns ($8,200): Bledsoe is on quite a tear lately. He has averaged 36 fantasy points a game over his last five outings, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Risky Play:

Kobe Bryant, Lakers ($8,700): He looked a little rusty against the Suns on Sunday, and played only 32 minutes. If he plays around that amount of time going forward, it is really going to hurt his fantasy value. There is just way too much that is unknown about the situation to rely on Kobe right now.

My Lineups:

A: Bledsoe and Oladipo ($14,300)

B: Butler and Brad Beal ($15,700): Beal has played very well lately, and has been over 20 fantasy points in each of his last seven games.

Dec 13, 2014; Philadelphia, PA, USA; Philadelphia 76ers forward Robert Covington (33) brings the ball up court against the Memphis Grizzlies during the second half at Wells Fargo Center. The Grizzlies defeated the 76ers 120-115. Mandatory Credit: Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Small Forwards:

Bargains:

Shabazz Muhammad, Timberwolves ($6,000): Muhammad has been a little bit down lately, but he is still getting the minutes that he was right after Brewer was traded, so I expect to see him back in the 30 point fantasy range soon.

Robert Covington, 76ers ($5,700): Covington could see even more minutes with Luc Richard Mbah A Moute out. He did against the Jazz on Saturday, and put out 32.8 fantasy points. The Portland game seems to be an aberration. Covington should be good to go going forward.

Worth The Cost:

Draymond Green, Warriors ($7,600): Green has lost a few minutes with David Lee returning, but not enough to hamper his fantasy output. The good thing about Green is that he doesn’t need to score to be a force. On Saturday, he only scored four points, but put up 38.6 fantasy points. He had eight rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and six steals.

Tobias Harris, Magic ($7,100): Harris was over 20 fantasy points yet again. While you expect more for $7,100, he had an off game and still gave you that production. That make him a lower risk option. He has only been under 25 fantasy points twice in his last 11 games.

Risky Play:

LeBron James, Cavaliers ($10,500): James is questionable because the knee is sore, but the Cavaliers are so banged up that they need him to play. That said, you have a lot of options, and don’t need to hope that LeBron is healthy enough to give you a solid line. I would recommend a healthier option tonight.

My Lineups:

A and B: Covington and Muhammad ($11,700)

Next: There Is One Guy That MUST Be On Your Team Tonight

Dec 26, 2014; Denver, CO, USA; Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried (35) dunks the ball during the first half against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Pepsi Center. Mandatory Credit: Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forwards:

Bargains:

Kenneth Faried, Nuggets ($6,500): It finally appears as if Brian Shaw is figuring out what all of us fantasy players already know: that Faried is a beast! Faried has averaged 46 fantasy points per game over his last three outings. And he gets the lowly Lakers tonight. This could be an even bigger night for Faried!

Tristan Thompson, Cavaliers ($5,600): Thompson struggled in his first couple of games in place of Anderson Varejao, but now seems to be finding his niche. He will never be a great option, but he has 57.8 fantasy points in his last two games. Thompson will likely play around 40 minutes again tonight with Shawn Marion joining Varejao in street clothes.

Worth The Cost:

Anthony Davis, Pelicans ($11,500): Davis has back-to-back 50+ fantasy point games against the Bulls and Spurs. What do you think he is going to do to the Phoenix frontcourt?

Paul Millsap, Hawks ($8,100): Millsap racked up 30+ fantasy points in his seventh straight and 11th in his last 12 games. Is there anyone more consistent playing tonight?

Risky Play:

LaMarcus Aldridge, Trailblazers ($10,100): Aldridge is probable for tonight after today’s shootaround, but he ā€œonlyā€ put up 35 fantasy points in the one game that he did play with his respiratory infection. He still sounds a little gruff, so there may be some lingering effects. Owners who take the chance could have a nice reward though against the Raptors.

My Lineups:

A: Davis and Faried ($18,000)

B: Thompson and Faried ($12,100)

Next: You Don't Have To Spend Big To Get Production At C

Nov 26, 2014; Auburn Hills, MI, USA; Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond (0) during the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Los Angeles won 104-98. Mandatory Credit: Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargains:

Rudy Gobert, Jazz ($5,000): He is not starting, but he is outplaying the incumbent Enes Kanter right now. Gobert has four straight games of 20 or more fantasy points, and has topped that in eight of his last nine games. Tonight, he gets the beat up Timberwolves who might be without Gorgui Dieng as well. If this turns into a blowout, and there is a good chance of that, he could see a lot of minutes tonight.

Alex Len, Suns ($4,900): Len has seven straight 20+ fantasy point games since cracking the starting lineup, and now has four straight games of over 25 fantasy points. He may be getting close to his ceiling, but so long as he is producing like this, he is more than worth his price.

Worth The Cost:

Marc Gasol, Grizzlies ($9,200): Gasol has four straight games of more than 40 fantasy points, and has topped 30 in each of his last 12. Old reliable is back!

Andre Drummond, Pistons ($9,000): Now you see why the Pistons waived Josh Smith. Drummond has averaged 40 fantasy points per game since the Pistons let Smith go. He should be able to do this on a consistent basis now.

Risky Play:

Marcin Gortat, Wizards ($6,500): Gortat has only topped 30 fantasy points once in his last 11 games. In fact, he has been under 25 in eight of those games. Is that a risk you want to take?

My Lineups:

A and B: Len ($4,900)
