What are the ideal landing spots for the recently fired NFL coaches?

“Black Monday” is the universal term used for the day following the Week 17 slate of NFL games. Every year, a number of head coaches are the chopping block at some point during that particular Monday, and the 2014 season produced a handful of casualties in its own right.

While one of those such coaches has already landed on his feet in Jim Harbaugh at the University of Michigan, there are still four prominent names without gainful employment. These coaches range from proven winners to career also-rans, but regardless, the focus usually shifts away from the coaches who lost their jobs to the newly created openings.

In this space, however, we will examine the ideal landing spots for the NFL coaches who are suddenly looking for work. Each new employment opportunity will be a position that is currently open, but other than that, the board is wide open. Let’s get to it.
