Now that the national championship game is set, is Oregon or Ohio State the favorite?

More from College Football

Well after the events of New Year’s Day and the first ever College Football Playoff semifinal games, we know that on Jan. 12 the Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes will be playing for the national championship in Arlington.

With that being said, not long after Ohio State got done taking care of their business, the early Vegas odds for the title game were released.

As you would expect, the Ducks are going into this one as the favorite, and by a pretty big margin at that.

It’s not surprising that the Ducks are the favorite, considering the tear that they’ve been on as of late, but that large of a spread is a bit shocking. For as hot as Oregon has been lately, Ohio State has been just as hot, and you can’t forget that they took down the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide, the No. 1 team in the country.

But again, Oregon really took it to Florida State out in the Rose Bowl, taking the defending down by a score of 59-20. It was complete and utter domination in the second half, which also could have contributed to the high spread.

What do you think? Should Oregon be that large of a favorite to start? Let us know in the comments below.
