Darnell Dockett is on Twitter, because when is he not, trying to recruit former first-string quarterback Braxton Miller to Florida State, according to a story by Sports Illustrated. Miller’s college Ohio State is preparing to play Oregon in the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, while speculation swirls around him as a transfer. Miller was considered a strong candidate for the Heisman before he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in preseason play. Since then, quarterbacks J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones have emerged as strong players for the Buckeyes.
Transfer rumors are now swirling around Miller and Barrett as well. Dockett seems to be pretty worried about the loss of Jameis Winston to the draft and he now wants Miller to head to his own alma mater of the Florida State Seminoles.

It certainly is cold in Ohio currently, with temperatures expected to drop below zero, while in Tallahassee, it’s over 60 degrees and sunny.
Last month, both Miller and Barrett avoided the media on the traditional media day for the Sugar Bowl. The two quarterbacks were trying to avoid questions about their health as well as their future with Ohio State. Transfer rumors were already cropping up for the two as Ohio suddenly had three talented quarterbacks and only one starting job. That was in December, and obviously Ohio’s season still continues, but the big offseason story is definitely going to be what happens to Miller and Barrett.
"With three talented quarterbacks — Miller, Barrett and Cardale Jones — the Buckeyes will face the ultimate first-world college football problem in the next few months. Miller won the Big Ten Player of the Year award in 2012 and ’13. Barrett finished in the top five of Heisman Trophy voting. Jones led Ohio State to a 59-0 blowout of Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game. Only one can be the starter in ’15. (via Sports Illustrated)"
Miller probably won’t be practicing right away in the Spring, and is only throwing lightly right now. He has also graduated and could thus transfer anywhere and not have to sit for a year. However, those close to the situation believe the chance of Miller transferring is low, regardless of Dockett’s hopes. He has a strong dedication to Ohio, including a tattoo on his left shoulder. He’s also known to be an introvert who probably wouldn’t want to jump over to a new school.
