It appears there was a mastermind behind the ‘no means no’ chant uttered by Ducks players following the game.

2013 Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston had a tough Rose Bowl. Not only was it his first collegiate loss as a starter, but his team was blown out in epic fashion.

Oh yeah, and Oregon Duck players mocked the man too after the game.

“No means no” rang loud from Ducks in Florida State’s famed chop chant heard so often in Tallahassee, Florida.

Jenn Sterger was once the face of Florida State Seminole nation. She rose to fame and it seems has now slowly slid away from her alma mater.

One of the last people you’d think be responsible for the creation of the “no means no” chant would’ve been Sterger, but it seems to be the case. Among many other ridiculous things, Sterger is an aspiring comedian.

Sterger had written the joke for a comedy show that featured Brad Williams, who’s appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show in the past. Some of the Oregon players visited the iconic Improv Comedy Club prior to the Rose Bowl, for which the joke was passed onto the team.

Williams is pleased the kids found the joke funny.

Via TMZ:

“I still think the joke is funny … it’s hilarious … but the thing with jokes is there’s always a time and place. And maybe that wasn’t the time and the place.”

“I don’t think anyone should be punished for a joke. They’re kids. It’s a learning experience. But if they do get punished … maybe a couple extra pushups or some laps. They shouldn’t miss the National Championship.”

As for Sterger’s role in the joke, she confirmed her part on a podcast with Bert Kreischer.

“Brad’s like my comedy godfather … He’d asked me to write some roast jokes for him and I said, ‘Yeah, sure, I love being mean.’” Sterger explained on the podcast.

“And I wrote a bunch of jokes, they crushed, and I mean, I ripped both teams to shreds, and their respective rivals. I mean, the Gators were destroyed. But the joke that killed the hardest, for Oregon, was Brad said, ‘Hey guys, just have a great time in Hollywood, and remember ‘Noooo means noooo!’”

Regardless of where Jenn Sterger will be in the world on January 12th, the college football national championship will be played. And unlike Sterger, tt will feature real, worth-while substance.
