The Hurricanes and Adidas came to terms on a 12-year contract Thursday. The deal has the potential to be the richest in Hurricanes history.
Adidas had never had a contract this long with any team prior to Thursday’s deal. A source close to the deal told the Associated Press that the agreement with Adidas is worth “multiple times” the amount than the deal they had with Nike.

Since Miami is a private university, they do not have to reveal the deal specifics. Adidas is very excited about their association with the Miami brand.
“Their unmatched success, national relevance and cultural significance make them a perfect fit for Adidas as we continue to significantly invest and grow our business in the U.S.,” said the president of Adidas Group North America, Mark King, in a statement. “Florida is a key battleground and home to some of the best athletic talent in the country. We’re proud to have Miami as a key pillar of our future business.”
Adidas already has deals with schools such as Arizona State and UCLA. Former Miami players are excited too, New Orleans Saints tight end, Jimmy Graham, called the deal “a perfect fit.”
