The Kenny Hill era at Texas A&M is now officially done with.

Texas A&M sophomore quarterback Kenny Hill will be leaving the program, according to a report from GigEM247. Hill started the season for the Aggies, but after a falloff in production, was replaced by true freshman Kyle Allen. Should Hill end up transferring to another FBS school, he will have to sit out a year, given his eligibility status at the moment.

Now also in the report, it notes that one landing spot that Hill could potentially end up at is TCU, who will be returning starting quarterback Trevone Boykin in 2015. Should this be the plan, then Hill would aim to be the 2016 starter for Gary Patterson.

Hill got off to one of the best starts of anyone in 2014 as he took over for the polarizing Johnny Manziel, even having some calling for a Heisman campaign. In the opening game of the season against South Carolina, Hill threw for a school record 554 yards and he would go on to lead the Aggies to a 5-0 record.

However, that’s when the wheels began to fall off, as the Aggies would go on to lose their next three games, including a 59-0 blowout loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Things then got worse, personally, as Hill would then serve a suspension for a violation of team rules. Allen took the reins of the starting job, leading the team to a win over Auburn, more or less ending the Hill era right then and there.

Since Hill has not used his redshirt season yet, he will still have two years of eligibility remaining.
