Fantasy Basketball: FanDuel Lineups For January 10th

The B lineup made some cash last night. The A lineup would have if not for the gamble on Belinelli and Lavoy Allen. So it goes….

Let’s try to get a little more cash tonight, shall we?

More from FanDuel

Here are my FanDuel lineups for January 10th. Please note that these are for the all day games, which start at 1pm eastern.

Point Guards:

Bargains:

Jarrett Jack, Nets ($5,900): Some people thought I was joking and/or crazy when I called Jack the best point guard on the Nets back in November. I wasn’t joking, and I wasn’t wrong. Put him in your lineup and reap the rewards. Jack has another nice matchup against the Pistons tonight, and should be well over 30 fantasy points once again with no one breathing down his neck for minutes.

Trey Burke, Jazz ($5,900): Burke was slowed a little by strep throat earlier in the week, but he looked just fine last night against Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. Now he gets a much better matchup against the Rockets and Patrick Beverley. He should finish with at least 30 fantasy points in this one.

Worth The Cost:

Kyle Lowry, Raptors ($9.800): Lowry has been under 40 fantasy points just twice in his last 12 games, and has not been under 30 in over a month. He has put the Raptors on his back with DeMar DeRozan out of the lineup. Start him with confidence against the Celtics tonight. They have no answer for Lowry at all with Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green both out of the picture.

Kemba Walker, Hornets ($9,400): Walker has averaged an astounding 48 fantasy points per game over his last four contests. Today, he gets the Knicks, who are throwing anyone with a pulse out there. Walker has the potential for another huge fantasy day.

Risky Play:

Langston Galloway, Knicks ($3,500): The Knicks gave Galloway, not Shane Larkin, 31 minutes on Thursday. Who’s to say whether that will happen again or not, but it may. The rookie out of St Joseph’s provided the Knicks with a big spark, racking up 19 real points and 28.3 fantasy points. Needless to say, if you get that kind of production from a guy how is the game minimum, you are off to a great start. However, the Knicks could decide to go a different direction all together. There is the risk.

My Lineups:

A: Walker and Jack ($15,300)

B: Jack and Galloway ($9,400)

Next: Very Few Cheap Options At SG

Dec 31, 2014; Boston, MA, USA; Boston Celtics guard Evan Turner (11) brings the ball up the court past Sacramento Kings guard Ray McCallum (3) during the second half of the Boston Celtics 106-84 win over the Sacramento Kings at TD Garden. Mandatory Credit: Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Shooting Guards:

Bargains:

Evan Turner, Celtics ($5,300): Turner’s value is through the roof right now with the trade of Jeff Green to the Grizzlies. In game one post-Green, Turner put up 39.5 fantasy points in 38 minutes. He has shown flashes of brilliance throughout his brief career so far. Now he will get the chance to do it on a permanent basis. Tayshaun Prince may cut into his time a little bit, but Prince won’t be in uniform today. That makes Turner a fantastic value in all formats, especially daily leagues.

Wesley Matthews, Trailblazers ($6,000): Matthews has been a consistent force on the fantasy circuit all season long. He has been between 25 and 34 points in all but five games since Thanksgiving. It doesn’t matter who he is playing. Matthews just gets his numbers.

Worth The Cost:

James Harden, Rockets ($10,800): Harden’s production has dipped slightly, but he is still in the high 30’s to low 40’s fantasy wise every game. Sans when he plays the Pelicans. They know how to frustrate Harden. Luckily for us, no one else has figured it out yet. The last time Harden played the Jazz, they limited his points (18), but finished two rebounds shy of a triple-double. The potential is there for a good game.

Jimmy Butler, Bulls ($9,400): Milwaukee’s lineup is constantly in flux. The Bucks did a decent job on Butler the first time that they played this year, but that was in the fifth game of the season. Butler has grown by leaps and bounds since then. I look for Butler to show the Bucks just how much he has improved.

Risky Play:

Anyone in a Knicks Uniform: Seriously. Tim Hardaway Jr. would seem to be one of the best options on the team, yet he played only 17 minutes on Thursday. The same can be said for guys that have played well of the bench at different times this year like Quincy Acy, Shane Larkin, and Jason Smith. It’s anyone’s guess what the lineup will look like today. The only one that I would feel halfway comfortable about starting is Galloway.

My Lineups:

A and B: Harden and Turner ($16,100)

Next: The Best Bargains Are Still At SF

Jan 8, 2015; Toronto, Ontario, CAN; Charlotte Hornets guard Gerald Henderson (9) controls the ball against the Toronto Raptors in the first quarter at Air Canada Centre. Mandatory Credit: Peter Llewellyn-USA TODAY Sports

Small Forwards:

Bargains:

Gerald Henderson, Hornets ($5,600): Henderson has not only pushed Gary Neal into a bench role, he has stolen nearly all of his minutes as well. It is not without warrant though. Since Henderson took over as the starter, he has been over 32 fantasy points four times in six games. Three of those have been in a row. This is turning into the Walker, Henderson, and Kidd-Gilchrist show in Charlotte. At least until Al Jefferson gets back.

Robert Covington, 76ers ($5,600): Covington got the start at SG last night, and responded with possibly his best night as a pro. He had 40.9 fantasy points, fueled by 20 points and a whopping six steals. If he can do that against the Nets, the prospects of him having another good game against Indiana are very good.

Worth The Cost:

Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves ($6,900): Wiggins had another good night against Milwaukee last night. He now has surpassed 30 fantasy points in six consecutive games, and in eight of his last nine. He is approaching must-play status right now. And on a night where there are very few high end options at SF, I would say that he already is. Especially against the Kawhi-less Spurs.

Risky Play:

Tobias Harris, Magic ($6,800): You hear me rave about the consistency of Harris all the time, but I really don’t like his matchup against Portland. Nicolas Batum may not be producing much for fantasy purposes, but he is still a really good defender. There is potential for Harris to have an off night, and with better low-cost options, I would shy away from Harris for a day.

My Lineups:

A: Wiggins and Henderson ($12,400)

B: Covington and Henderson ($11,200)

Next: Once Again, The Stars Are Out At PF

Jan 2, 2015; New York, NY, USA; New York Knicks forward Travis Wear (6) shoots during the second quarter against the Detroit Pistons at Madison Square Garden. Mandatory Credit: Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forwards:

Bargains:

Travis Wear, Knicks ($4,000): Okay, maybe I trust one more Knick, but only because Carmelo Anthony is still out. Wear scored a team high, and career high, 21 points on Thursday en route to a 29.5 fantasy point night. That is great production for that cost if you don’t mind taking a little bit ofĀ  a risk.

Greg Monroe, Pistons ($7,500): Monroe has been an absolute monster for about three weeks now. If you have been playing him, you have enjoyed better production than a lot of the people that go with higher priced players. Monroe has 11 straight 20+ point fantasy games. Six of those have been over 30, including his last three in a row. He has had great success in his starting role, and only seems to be getting better.

Worth The Cost:

Blake Griffin, Clippers ($10,200): Griffin has scored 38 or more fantasy points in all but one of his last 11 games. The one that he didn’t was in a blowout of the 76ers. The Clippers likely won’t blow out the Mavs, meaning that Griffin should have another strong game

LaMarcus Aldridge, Trailblazers ($10,000): The Magic don’t have anyone down low who will be able to bother Aldridge. He could have a HUGE game. The bright side is that even if he doesn’t, he is still a lock for at least 30 fantasy points, making him a low risk option.

Risky Play:

Tim Duncan, Spurs ($8,600): Duncan has a favorable matchup against the Timberwolves. The only problem is that it is a little too favorable. It is the second night of a back to back, but Duncan has only played 46 minutes in the last two games combined. I don’t see him sitting out entirely, but he will likely be limited to around half the game again.

My Lineups:

A: Monroe and Wear ($11,500)

B: Monroe and Griffin ($17,700)

Next: Lots Of Good Options At C

Jan 8, 2015; New York, NY, USA; Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard (12) dunks during the first quarter against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Mandatory Credit: Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargain:

Tiago Splitter, Spurs ($4,500): Splitter has three straight games of 25+ fantasy points since taking over the starting center job. He could finally crack 30 tonight against the Timberwolves.

Worth The Cost:

Dwight Howard, Rockets ($8,800): Howard punished the Jazz the first time that the two teams met this year. Now he gets the Jazz again on the heels of a game that he played just 24 minutes in. A well-rested Howard could be really bad news for the Jazz.

Risky Plays:

Roy Hibbert, Pacers ($5,200): Hibbert’s ankle seems to be fine. He punished the undersized Celtics for his best game of the season last night. I suppose theĀ true test will be to see how the ankle responds to back to back games. So Hibbert is a bit of a risk tonight, but a well priced one.

Andre Drummond, Pistons ($9,100): Drummond played just 17 minutes last night against the Hawks as Detroit decided to go with a smaller lineup. Is this a trend? Probably not since Jodie Meeks did nothing with his extra minutes. However, this is something to be wary of.

My Lineups:

A: Splitter ($4,500)

B: HibbertĀ  ($5,200)
