Last night might be the worst night that I have ever had in my FanDuel career. I have Kelly Olynyk and the Celtics to thank for that. When will I learn that I can’t trust players on D-League teams (Celtics and Knicks)?

More from FanDuel

Tonight, there are a few more games to choose from. We have seven, and since the Knicks and Celtics don’t play, I should do better.

Here are my FanDuel lineups for January 13th:

Point Guards:

Bargains:

Ronnie Price, Lakers ($4,400): Price is still the starter, but neither he nor Jeremy Lin are getting what you would call starters minutes. Each of them play around 20-25 minutes. Price has been right around 26 minutes per game, and doesn’t always make the most of his opportunities. That said, I like his matchup against Miami. Neither Chalmers nor Norris Cole are great defenders. Price should be able to have a decent game.

Tony Wroten, 76ers ($6,500): Wroten has still managed to keep a role on this team, and keep himself fantasy relevant. He has at least 28 fantasy points in seven of his last nine games. He has a good matchup against Atlanta. I expect him to be around that mark once again.

Worth The Cost:

Kyrie Irving, Cavaliers ($8,600): Irving continues to play strong in the absence of LeBron James. James is questionable for tonight, but Irving has proven that he and James can co-exist on the floor. I also like his matchup against the Suns since they don’t particularly defend well, which is surprising considering the quality of the guards on their team.

John Wall, Wizards ($9,100): Wall had yet another 30 point fantasy game even though he only scored 15 points. I put Wall here because he is putting up good fantasy numbers despite a dip in scoring. If he gets his scoring back on track, he has a pretty high ceiling. We have seen him crack 50 fantasy points a few times this year. Now he is proving that he doesn’t need to score to be effective. Whatever he does against the Spurs tonight, I would bet on him being effective. The Spurs don’t defend as well as they used to.

Risky Play:

Michael Carter-Williams, 76ers ($8,200): MCW has been as inconsistent as they come. In his last five games, he has a DNP, one game in the teens for fantasy points, one is the 20’s, one in the 30’s, and one in the 40’s. Which are you going to get? Tonight against the Hawks, I would lean more towards the under 10 than over 50 that he is missing.

My Lineups:

A: Price and Mo Williams ($9,900): Williams looked solid in his return, and since I couldn’t afford Wroten, this is the next best thing

B: Price and Wroten ($10,900)

Shooting Guards:

Bargains:

Kyle Korver, Hawks ($5,200): Never underestimate the power of the revenge game. Korver started his career in Philadelphia, and could have a good game back in Philly tonight. He has averaged 24 fantasy points per game over his last seven contests, and should have no problems reaching that tonight against his former team.

Ben McLemore, Kings ($4,400): B-Mac has not taken the next jump in his progression that most people had hoped. He is improving, but it is mostly on things that don’t show up in the box score. He is not going to be an elite scorer with the Kings when everyone is healthy because they have so many options. That said, he is starting, and producing right around 20 fantasy points per game. At his cost, you can do worse.

Worth The Cost:

Dwyane Wade, Heat ($8,800): Aside from the disaster against Houston on January 3rd, Wade has averaged 40 fantasy points per game in his eight games since his return from a hamstring injury. Add to that the fact that he is playing the Lakers, who give up the most points in the NBA, and Wade is a guy that should be played tonight.

Eric Bledsoe, Suns ($8,500): Bledsoe’s 27.1 fantasy points against Memphis on Sunday was his lowest total in his last 12 games. That can be excused because it’s Memphis, after all. And it is not a bad total. It just shows what kind of level Bledsoe has been playing at. Look for him to rebound in a big way against the Cavs tonight.

Risky Play:

Brad Beal, Wizards ($6,300): Beal looks like an enticing mid-level option today against the Spurs, but a closer look reveals that he has five games of 20 fantasy points or less in his last ten games. Four others have been above 30. Either his shot is falling, or it isn’t. And you really have no way of knowing which kind of night it will be like for him until after the game starts. If you feel like playling a little game of chance, Beal provides that.

My Lineups:

A: Wade and Korver ($14,000)

B: Wade and McLemore ($13,200)

Next: There Are Still Bargains At SF

Small Forwards:

Bargains:

Robert Covington, 76ers ($5,800): Covington was never much of a prospect, so he has likely hit his ceiling. Still, if he keeps producing between 25 and 35 fantasy points every game for under 6k, I’m going to use him.

DeMarre Carroll, Hawks ($5,300): Carroll flies under the radar, but he does have eight games of 20 or more fantasy points in his last ten games. He has a good matchup tonight agianst the 76ers, which makes him worth using. He has played 28 or more minutes in all of his last ten games except for one. You should count on a similar run for Carroll tonight, which should net you around 30 points.

Worth The Cost:

Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves ($7,000): Shabazz Muhammad will be out at least two weeks, and though Kevin Martin is nearing a return, he may not be available tonight. That means that Wiggins will have to bear more of the scoring load than usual. He struggled a bit against the Spurs on Saturday, but still put up 18 points for the seventh straight game, and ninth out of his last 11. He is a good bet again tonight against the Pacers.

Draymond Green, Warriors ($8,300): Green again only scored ten points, but his fantasy numbers were over 40. He does a little of everything, which makes him a valuable commodity for the Warriors and for fantasy players of every league type. In FanDuel, he has a high floor, which makes him a great play in nearly every matchup.

Risky Play:

Chase Budinger, Timberwolves ($3,500): Budinger is pencilled in as the starter for Shabazz Muhammad while both he and Kevin Martin are out. Budinger has a limited offensive game, which makes him a big risk in the world of FanDuel because he doesn’t do enough of anything else to keep his point total up. That said, he is starting. He is out there if you are desperate.

My Lineups:

A and B: Covington and Wiggins

Next: Most Of The Good Options Are At PF Once Again

Jan 11, 2015; Sacramento, CA, USA; Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love (0) drives in against Sacramento Kings forward Derrick Williams (13) during the second quarter at Sleep Train Arena. Mandatory Credit: Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forwards:

Bargains:

David West, Pacers ($6,700): West erupted on the Sixers for a season high 48.8 fantasy points on Saturday. Tonight he takes on a Timberwolves front line that is not much better than Philadelphia’s. Expecting more than 40 again is unfair for the aging West, but I could see him finishing comfortably in the 30’s, which does make him a solid bargain tonight.

Ed Davis, Lakers ($5,000): Davis has struggled against some teams that are good on the interior like the Clippers and Blazers, but he has also done well aginst those that are good. He went over 30 fantasy points against the Bulls and Magic both, who are not exactly weak on the inside. So long as Carlos Boozer doesn’t eat too much into his minutes, Davis should be around 25 fantsay points, which is good for those of us looking to go cheap at PF.

Worth The Cost:

Paul Millsap, Hawks ($8,000): Millsap now has three straight games of under 30 fantasy points, but those were all against teams that defend the interior well (Pistons, Grizzlies, and Wizards). Now Millsap gets his reward for enduring that with a matchup against the undersized 76ers. He should be back to well over 30 in this one.

Kevin Love, Cavaliers ($10,000): Love has been a beast with LeBron James out, but that run may be coming to an end. James listed himself as a game time decision tonight. The only problem with that is his game tips off two hours after all of the east coast games do. We likely will not know the status of the King until the FanDuel tournaments have started. That said, I would still go with Love simply because I can’t ignore his great matchup agianst Phoenix. Even if James plays, Love could have another good game.

Risky Play:

Tim Duncan, Spurs ($8,400): Duncan has been under 30 fantasy points in each of the last four games and in five of the last six. He has also seen under 25 minutes in his last three games. He is hard to rely on right now, especially when you consider that he put up nly 24.8 fantasy points against the Wizards the last time they met on January 3rd. I would steer clear of Duncan tonight.

My Lineups:

A: Love and Millsap ($18,000)

B: West and Davis ($11,700)

Next: The Best Options Are Still At C

Jan 3, 2015; Houston, TX, USA; Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside (21) dunks the ball during the fourth quarter against the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center. Mandatory Credit: Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Bargain:

Hassan Whiteside, Heat ($5,200): Whiteside’s price has jumped dramatically, but so has his play. So far, the Heat have stayed committed to starting him only in the second half, but not the first. How long will that last now that he put up 50.2 fantasy points in just 29 minutes. Against the Clippers! He is clearly light years better than incumbent Chris Anderson. Tonight, he gets the Lakers, and if they give him more than 29 minutes, the potential is there for another game like this.

Worth The Cost:

DeMarcus Cousins, Kings ($11,300): Cousins is the highest priced player in the game with good reason. He has scored 122.7 points in just two games! Two! He has not been below 35 points in 2015, and that includes only playing 27 minutes in a blowout of the Timberwolves. Tonight, he gets the Mavericks, who are merely average up front. Cousins eats ā€œaverageā€ for a late afternoon triscuit. Why do him and Whiteside always have to play on the same night at the same position?!?

Risky Play:

Al Horford, Hawks ($7,300): Horford has been inconsistent still, but he does have a favorable matchup against Philadelphia tonight. However, if the game gets out of hand, the Hawks will likely give Horford some extra rest. Just be aware of that when setting your lineup.

My Lineups:

A: Whiteside ($5,200)

B: Cousins ($11,300)
