Joe Paterno’s career wins at Penn State are going to be reinstated, which is something that not everyone is taking seriously — including Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush.

On Friday afternoon, it was announced that the NCAA would be giving iconic Penn State head coach Joe Paterno his career wins back in a posthumous apology of sorts. The wins were vacated after the Jerry Sandusky rape scandal which revealed that boys were molested on Penn State grounds during Joe Paterno’s reign as head coach.

The decision to reinstate those vacated wins is a controversial decision but it’s one that a lot of Penn State fans are happy to see. The involvement of Joe Paterno and his knowledge of the situation is debatable, but there is no doubt some serious fault at hand.

Reggie Bush’s reaction to the news that Joe Paterno’s wins would be restored by the NCAA was both classic and likely what a lot of people were saying.

It’s a really touchy subject, as Joe Paterno is as loved in 2015 as he is loathed. Many still blame Joe Pa for allowing the molestation of young boys to occur on his watch while others insist that if Joe Pa truly had full knowledge of the situation he wouldn’t have let it happen.

There’s also the mouth-breathing, knuckledragging sect of Joe Pa supporter who defend the coach by saying the molestation of boys had nothing to do with wins and losses. It’s because of those people that the reinstatement of Joe Pa’s wins is bittersweet.

Nevertheless, the wins are being given back to the head coach and a few years after his death, his legacy is being restored. It’s clearly not something everyone agrees with, but Bush proves you don’t have to be outspoken in speaking out about it.
