Featured Game: Manchester City 0 -2 Middlesbrough

This was expected to be an easy game for Manchester City, who are currently 2nd in the English Premier League. They were playing a team in Middlesbrough who sit 2nd in the English Championship (The second division in English football). Middlesbrough have been in good form of late, but that was still not expected to be enough against the current EPL Champions.

A tremendous amount of credit has to go to the underdogs for going to the Etihad Stadium and tactically out-playing Man City. The first half consisted of the visitors having a goal disallowed for offside and Man City battering shots at the Middlesbrough goal.

Overall the home club had 23 shots and the Middlesbrough keeper had to be on top form in to the second half, where it was much of the same with Manchester City owning the ball but failing to convert. Middlesbrough capitalized on some awful defending and scored the opening goal. The home team pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but this proved costly, as in the last minutes of the game Middlesbrough caught them on the break.

This was not the only upset of the day, as Chelsea, Tottenham and Southampton all fell to teams they were expected to beat.
