The first draft of my lineups were nearly identical, so I am pretty comfortable with my āAā lineup. Whether that means money or not is anyoneās guess. I did change my B lineup to take a few chances tonight.
Here are my evening FanDuel lineups for January 25th:
Point Guards:
Bargains:
Mo Williams, Timberwolves ($5,800): Ricky Rubio is still without a timetable for return. He is practicing, so he will be back soon. It doesnāt sound like it will be today though, so Williams is worth a look. He played well against the Pelicans on Friday, so he should put up respectable numbers against the Hawks as well. Still, itās a risk to start someone against the Hawks.
D.J. Augustin, Pistons ($3,800): Brandon Jennings left the stadium in a boot last night, and the rumor is that he has an Achilles injury. Even if it is not the worst case scenario, which is a rupture, he is definitely going to miss tonightās game. That could make Augustin a very strong play against the Raptors. In fact, he might produce along the lines of Nelson, which would make him a better option that Williams. He might even be a better option than Nelson.
Worth The Cost:
John Wall, Wizards ($8,800): Wall has a really nice matchup against the Nuggets. Wall looked better against Oklahoma City on Friday than he has in almost a month. That makes me confident that he will be able to produce at a high enough level to help you into the money against Denver.
Jeff Teague, Hawks ($8,200): Teague has a fantastic matchup against the Timberwolves tonight. The caveat is that Teague has only played 30 minutes in each of the last three games. If he is held to 30 minutes again, it definitely limits his fantasy value. Still, he is a strong bet for another 35 point fantasy game. That would be his third straight over that mark.
Risky Plays:
Chris Paul, Clippers ($9,800): Paul has only scored 50 or above once in 2015. He has also been below 30 three times in that span. I doubt he will be that low against the Suns, but for his price you want someone who is a sure 40 at worst. Iām not sure you get that from Paul anymore.
Stephen Curry, Warriors ($10,100): Curry will likely get solid numbers against Boston tonight, but I am always apprehensive about playing high-priced stars in a game that could be a blowout. If it comes to that, Curry will likely get extended rest in the second half, which lowers his ceiling. The question is can he hit 50 fantasy points in the first half? Against the Celtics, I may not rule it out.
My Lineups:
A:Ā Curry and Augustin ($13,900):
B: Teague and Augustin ($12,000)

Shooting Guards:
Bargains:
Eric Gordon, Pelicans ($5,400): Gordon put up his second straight 30 fantasy point game on Friday. He looks like he is back somewhere near his old form. He is shooting the ball well and gets another softer defense in Dallas tonight. Gordon is one of the stronger cheaper plays of the day.
Brad Beal, Wizards ($6,200): Beal has a great matchup against the Nuggets tonight. He has put up back to back 25+ fantasy point games. For a guy that is as inconsistent as Beal has been in his young career, he is very hard to trust in daily leagues. I do trust him against the Nuggets though. We have seen Beal put up some fantasy games over 40 and even 50 fantasy points. Tonight could be one of those nights where he does it again.
Worth The Cost:
Klay Thompson, Warriors ($8,100): Unless you have been under a rock, you have heard about Thompsonās record setting third quarter on Friday night against the Kings. He had a career night and likely wonāt do it again, but he does have a good matchup against Boston. Still, shooters have a habit of staying hot after games like this. He likely wonāt set any records, but I would not be surprised if he scored at least 30 again. Which should put him around 50 fantasy points.
James Harden, Rockets ($11,100): Harden is at it again, with three straight games of over 50 fantasy points. Two of those have been over 60. There is a great chance that Harden will get some rest if when this turns into a blowout. Still, I think Harden has close to a 50 point fantasy game even if he does only play about 30 minutes.
Risky Plays:
Wayne Ellington, Lakers ($4,200): With Kobe Bryant out, that puts Ellington into the starting lineup. He is not the kind of guy who is going to go much, if any, over 20 fantasy points, but he is an intriguing option against the Rockets if he gets some shots today.
Victor Oladipo, Magic ($7,200): Oladipo is consistently putting up more than 20 fantasy points per game. His streak is now up to 15 games. That said, his price is at the point where if you get in the low 20ās from him like you did on Friday night it qualifies as a disappointment. Oladipo may be without Elfrid Payton tonight as he is a game time decision. That would likely move Oladipo back to the point, which could increase his fantasy value even more. He would appear to be a good play tonight.
My Lineups:
A: Thompson and Gordon ($13,500)
B: Harden and Oladipo ($18,300)

Small Forwards:
Bargains:
Khris Middleton, Bucks ($5,100): Middleton is still getting starterās minutes, but that means anything over 28 minutes on this team. He had a good game against the tough Pistons last night. He may not hit 30 fantasy points again tonight against the Spurs, but I would be surprised if he got below 25. He should be a solid value for his price at a position where bargains are hard to come by.
DeMarre Carroll, Hawks ($5,400): Carroll has played well against mid to lower tier opponents. He gets the Timberwolves tonight, which fall into that category. Carroll should be good for around 20-25 fantasy points. That isnāt great, but it could keep you in the money if you can afford a star for taking him.
Worth The Cost:
Kawhi Leonard, Spurs ($8,000): Leonard has been at or above 30 fantasy points in four of the five games since his return. He may not be a spectacular play against Milwaukee, but he is a safe one. If you can afford Leonard, he will do more harm than good.
Risky Plays:
Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves ($7,400): Wiggins has been under 20 fantasy points in two of his last three games. They were against two stout defensive teams in Charlotte and New Orleans, so itās forgivable. But it also shows that for all of the strides that Wiggins has made, he is still a matchup based play. That is why I would use caution tonight against a Hawks team that shut down Kevin Durant on Friday.
Chandler Parsons, Mavericks ($6,200): Parsons consistently scores in the high 20ās for fantasy points, but he has also struggled against good teams. The Mavs get a good team tonight in the Pelicans, so he may have a hard time getting to 20 tonight. There are likely safer options.
My Lineups:
A and B: Middleton and Carroll ($10,500)
Next: You Don't Need To Spend At PF
Jan 12, 2015; Boston, MA, USA; New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis (23) shoots a free throw against the Boston Celtics during the second half at TD Garden. Mandatory Credit: Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports
Power Forwards:
Bargains:
Brandon Bass, Celtics ($4,400): Bass has been an absolute beast for the Celtics up front with Kelly Olynyk out. He has 78.8 fantasy points in his last two games, and is showing no signs of slowing down. He is the best bargain of the night, and it really isnāt close. He likely wonāt score near 40 against Golden State, but I wouldnāt bet against him being in the 30ās.
Greg Monroe, Pistons ($8,400): Monroe, like many of the other Pistons regulars, played sparingly in the second half of the blowout loss to the Bucks. Monroe still went over 30 fantasy points in just 29 minutes. He could have a big game against the inconsistent Raptors up front. In fact, I think I have him in every lineup tonight.
Worth The Cost:
Anthony Davis, Pelicans ($11,200): Davis has picked up right where he left off. He is actually becoming a little more consistent. He has not been under 40 fantasy points since January 5th. That makes it a lot easier to take him when you donāt have to worry as much about him being under 40 fantasy points.
Blake Griffin, Clippers ($9,900): Griffin has mixed in a few clunkers here and there, but he is still a beast up front against undersized teams. The Suns are notoriously soft in the middle. Both Griffin and DeAndre Jordan could have big nights tonight.
Risky Plays:
Jared Sullinger, Celtics ($6,600): Sullinger still has tremendous upside, but he has had a tough time getting enough minutes. He has not played more than 30 minutes in the last four games, but he still has gone over 25 fantasyĀ points in each of the last eight games. He and Bass are both kind of risky. I just like Bass better because there is less risk involved.
Tim Duncan, Spurs ($7,900): Duncan has averaged only 24.5 fantasy points per game over his last four games. It is not a coincidence that he has not played 30 minutes in any of those four games. The Spurs are resting him in games now instead of having him sit out entire games. Donāt trust him unless something changes or his price drops to the point where he is worth taking a shot on.
My Lineups:
A: Monroe and Bass ($12,800)
B: Bass and Nene Hilario ($10,100): Anyone against Denver looks like a pretty good play right now.
Next: Lots Of Options At C
Dec 26, 2014; Atlanta, GA, USA; Milwaukee Bucks center Zaza Pachulia (27) shows emotion against the Atlanta Hawks in the third quarter at Philips Arena. Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
Center:
Bargain:
Zaza Pachulia, Bucks ($5,600): Pachulia has four straight games of 24 or more fantasy points. So long as Larry Sanders it out, Pachulia will get enough of a run to be productive on the fantasy side of things. I like his matchup against the Spurs tonight as well. They are throwing nearly anyone with a pulse in there to save the wear and tear on Tim Duncan. Pachulia could have a good night.
Worth The Cost:
Nikola Vucevic, Magic ($8,900): Vucevic has had bouts of inconsistency this season, but itās hard to ignore a guy that has more than 50 fantasy points in four of his last seven games. Especially against a team like the Pacers. 50 is a distinct possibility again.
Risky Play:
Nikola Pekovic ($6,300): The Timberwolves are still working on ways to get Pekovic and Gorgui Dieng on the court together. They played Dieng at PF some while Pekovic was on the court. Still, the Timberwolves are easing Pekovic along, and not giving him a lot of minutes yet. Until they do, he is not worth taking a chance on.
My Lineups:
A and B: Vucevic ($8,900)
