Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he isn’t worried about running back Marshawn Lynch drawing a warning that another lewd celebration would result in a 15-yard penalty.

For a league that exacted minimal punishment on running backs who beat their wife or kids, the NFL sure does love picking on Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who dared to grab his crotch after a game-changing touchdown and who *gulp* dared to avoid talking to the media. Clearly, Beast Mode didn’t hear about all the great things that happen to you when you open up to reporters.

The NFL has fined Lynch for both infractions and promised more severe fines in the future for like behavior, but now they’ve taken it another step further. The refs will have an eye on the Beast and if he so much as thinks about making another crotch grab, he can expect the move to cost him in his wallet and on the field. Consider coach Pete Carroll warned and unconcerned.

“I haven’t talked to him about the thing that just came up from the league and the things about the game and all that yet, but that will be addressed and I expect him to have a great Super Bowl week,’’ Carroll said per the Seattle Times. “I think he’s going to have a great time doing this and playing in this game come game day.’’

It’s hard to doubt that Marshawn Lynch will have a good time. As much as the man clearly loathes speaking with the media, he loves him some football. With the Seahawks hoping to keep the ball out of the hands of the prolific New England Patriots offense and keep the Legion of Boom rested and ready for the next series, Marshawn Lynch can expect to receive a big workload in the Super Bowl.

Carroll had an interesting take on Marshawn’s reticence to speak with the media. “It’s not something that he is going to express a whole lot to you. I’ve said this before, that there’s a great deal spoken in his silence as well.”

It’s no surprise that Carroll remains firmly behind his guy. He’s always been a players-first coach and he’s always shown the utmost faith in their ability to act like adults and get the job done. The Seahawks rewarded his faith last year with a Super Bowl. If they can do it once more, they’ll be the first team in over a decade to repeat as champions.
