The UTSA Roadrunners could be getting an orange field soon

College football has many different unique fields these days. Boise State has a blue field and Eastern Washington has a red field, for example. It’s beginning to sound like a Dr. Seuss book. Now, the UTSA Roadrunners could be getting an even bolder look: an orange field.

When Boise State and Eastern Washington unveiled their respective fields, it was considered off-the-wall and something people weren’t used too. Now, the trend is taking off again, with an orange field down in San Antonio.

The field in all orange features the Roadrunners logo in the center of the field and matches nicely with the blue seats that are in the stands.

You have to wonder with a team getting another colored field if this will be a trend that really starts to expand across football as teams begin to brand their own look and market their identity.

It wouldn’t be surprising to start seeing fields of all color schemes. It fits in line with the theme of college football and all the crazy uniforms that teams have unveiled over the years.

If there is an orange field, will we eventually see purple, yellow, white, etc..?

There’s really nothing wrong with a colored football field if you aren’t a traditionalist. It provides a unique look and a different feel and experience. Now if the orange field comes to light, it can join the respective blue and red fields of college football and any other colors that might be out there now.
