There are two games in the NBA tonight for the late night FanDuel Lineups. The Wizards have listed both John Wall and Paul Pierce as questionable against the D-league worthy Lakers, so make sure to monitor those situations if you plan on playing them. If Pierce does play, I will sub him in for Butler, and downgrade a PF to Kris Humphries. If Wall plays, I will switch Curry to Wall and upgrade at PF.

Here are my late night FanDuel lineups for January 27th:
Point Guards:
Bargain:
Derrick Rose, Bulls ($7,000): Rose has averaged 36.5 fantasy points per game since missing his last game on January 10th. He isn’t quite back to normal yet, but he is producing at a high enough level to warrant playing in daily leagues. His matchup against the Warriors is not a great one, but there aren’t a whole lot of mid level options tonight, and he should be able to get up to around 30 fantasy points.
Worth The Cost:
John Wall, Wizards ($9,100): Wall has a great matchup against the Lakers tonight. He is currently riding a wave of three consecutive games over 40 fantasy points, and that will likely continue tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wall outscored the rest of the point guards tonight. If he plays, that is.
Stephen Curry, Warriors ($9,800): Curry is still prone to the occasional game under 30 fantasy points, but in the late matchups, he might be the only player that could net you 50. He might be worth taking a chance on.
Risky Plays:
Jeremy Lin, Lakers ($4,800): Lin outplayed both Ronnie Price and Jordan Clarkson on Sunday, but clearly the Lakers are yielding to the youth movement. It likely won’t matter how well Lin plays, the team is hell-bent on keeping him on the bench. That said, he did score 20 fantasy points on Sunday, and so long as his minutes are in the mid-20’s, he can give you solid production.
My Lineup:
Curry and Rose ($16,800)
Next: Will Klay Thompson Score Big Against The Bulls?

Shooting Guards:
Bargains:
Wayne Ellington, Lakers ($4,200): With Kobe Bryant out with no timetable for a return, the job is Ellington’s to lose. The fact that Nick Young only saw eight minutes on the court on Sunday shows that the Lakers want to see what they have in their young guys. Ellington has been over 20 fantasy points in each of his last three games, and seems like a solid option for a bargain price. You know the minutes are going to be there.
Worth The Cost:
Klay Thompson, Warriors ($8,600): Thompson “only” scored 31 points on Sunday against Boston after dropping 52 on the Kings on Friday. His matchup against the Bulls is not great, but with Jimmy Butler ill and questionable for tonight’s game, even if Butler does take the court, he won’t be 100 percent. That makes Thompson a really good play once again.
Brad Beal, Wizards ($6,000): Beal’s inconsistency is frustrating, but with a matchup against the Lakers tonight, you have to like his odds. He has been all over the place over the last ten games. He has had as low as 13.2 points, and as high as 40.8. that is a 27.6 point swing, so you really have no idea what you are going to get. However, if both Wall and Pierce sit, the offense will have to come from somewhere. That somewhere will be Beal.
Risky Plays:
Tony Snell, Bulls ($3,600): Snell has been in double digits for fantasy points since January 7th, but he still has not cracked the 20 point barrier. He may start tonight with Jimmy Butler ill, but I still wouldn’t count on him cracking 20. He has played more than 30 minutes four times in that span, and it has not upped his production much.
Jordan Clarkson, Lakers ($3,500): The Ronnie Price experiment seems to be over since Clarkson has started the last two games at the point for the Lakers. He had a solid first start against the Spurs, but was dreadful against Houston. Whether he starts again or not is purely a guess at this point, but with Nick Young out, there is a chance that Clarkson still reaches 28 minutes, which is where he has been over the last two games. However, unless he picks up the production, he likely won’t help you much.
My Lineup:
Thompson and Beal ($14,600)
Next: Very Few Options At SF If Pierce Sits

Small Forward:
Bargain:
Paul Pierce, Wizards ($5,100): Pierce has quietly put up a 30.7 fantasy point average over his last three games. He also has a great matchup against the Lakers tonight. He isn’t going to play 40 minutes a night like he used to, but as long as he stays around 30, he can put up some good numbers for you. Especially taking on the Lakers, who are reluctantly rebuilding. Just be aware that Pierce has recently been defined as “questionable” for tonight’s game, so you may have to change your pick at a moment’s notice.
Worth The Cost:
Draymond Green, Warriors ($7,300): If Pierce is out, Green is really the only chance to get you 30 points from the position. Wesley Johnson and Harrison Barnes are in bench roles now, as is Andre Iguodala. We have to hope Pierce plays, because if not, you have to go with at least one bench player. Unless…..
Risky Plays:
Rasual Butler, Wizards ($3,500): ….Rasual Butler starts in his place. It would likely be Butler or Otto Porter, but Butler has been the first option off of the bench, and has done pretty well with his minutes this year. He has not topped 20 fantasy points in the last ten games, but he has only been in single digits twice. Not bad for a guy playing 22 minutes per game.
My Lineup:
Butler and Wesley Johnson ($7,900): Simply put, I don’t trust Green either.
Next: You Need To Spend At PF Tonight
Jan 19, 2015; Cleveland, OH, USA; Chicago Bulls forward Pau Gasol (16) grabs a rebound in the third quarter against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena. Mandatory Credit: David Richard-USA TODAY Sports
Power Forwards:
Bargains:
Taj Gibson, Bulls ($6,000): Despite the return of Joakim Noah, Gibson extended his streak of more than 20 fantasy points to seven games on Sunday. With an injury to Mike Dunleavy and Jimmy Butler’s illness, it is possible that Gibson could play big minutes again. At any rate, expect his usual: 25 minutes and more than 20 fantasy points.
Nene Hilario, Wizards ($5,700): The Wizards have managed Nene well this year. He has been largely injury-free because they limit him to between 25 and 30 minutes a game. He has responded by averaging 26.8 fantasy points per game in January. Tonight he gets the gift of the Lakers defense, and should put up that number or better.
Worth The Cost:
Pau Gasol, Bulls ($9,200): Gasol is one of those guys that is always in the 30’s or 40’s as far as fantasy points go, it seems. He has been under 30 only once this month, and that was against a good Wizards frontcourt. The Warriors have plenty of guys to throw at Pau, but they likely won’t be able to keep him under 30. He would be a nice addition to Curry if you can swing it.
Risky Plays:
Kris Humphries, Wizards ($4,800): He is a bench player, but one that still gets consistent minutes because the Wizards don’t want to overwork Hilario. Tonight he could see an extended run if they blow out the Lakers. If they don’t, it will likely mean that Wall and/or Pierce are out, meaning a chance at extra minutes for Humphries there as well.
My Lineup:
Gasol and Hilario ($13,900)
Next: Who Is The Best Option At C?
November 1, 2014; Oakland, CA, USA; Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut (12) looks on during the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers at Oracle Arena. The Warriors defeated the Lakers 127-104. Mandatory Credit: Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports
Center:
Bargain:
Andrew Bogut, Warriors ($5,800): Bogut has been over 20 fantasy points in three straight games, despite not playing more than 28 minutes in any of them. He will likely be around 25-28 minutes again tonight, and he is really the only option that I somewhat trust. C is thin in the late night competition.
Worth The Cost:
Marcin Gortat, Wizards ($5,700): Gortat has been steadily losing playing time to Kris Humprhies. Whether that is a trend that continues is anyone’s guess, but he should still be a safe play against the Lakers tonight.
Risky Play:
Joakim Noah, Bulls ($5,900): Noah is still on a minutes limit as the Bulls want to make sure that he doesn’t reaggravate his ankle or knee injuries. Taj Gibson is playing well, so they really have no reason to push Noah. He has not been over 20 fantasy points since the first week of January, so he wasn’t really making an impact even when the minutes weren’t there.
My Lineup:
Bogut ($5,800)
