1. Super Bowl XLII – Giants 17, Patriots 14

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were perfect all season and had a chance to finish the year at 19-0, and learned that they would be facing the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII. They immediately were listed as 12-point favorites, due to the Giants’ struggles to even make the playoffs in the first place.

Despite everything that was going against them, the Giants were able to put everything together and pull off the best Super Bowl upset in the history of the game. Eli Manning played incredible football late in the game, and of course “The Catch” by David Tyree set up the game winning touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress. There haven’t been many games that have been as exciting or shocking as this particular Super Bowl, and there may never be this type of upset again.

It was a modern-day version of David versus Goliath, and David once again came out on top. New York made some amazing plays to make their championship dream a reality, and the Patriots left the game absolutely crushed with their first loss of the season.
