Here are my FanDuel lineups for January 28th:
Point Guards:
Bargains:
D.J. Augustin, Pistons ($6,000): Augustin had another superb outing in his second start. He now has 86.1 fantasy points over 73 minutes in his two starts since Brandon Jennings went down. He is a great play against the 76ers because of his price. He should produce like a guy that costs at least $3,000 more!
Langston Galloway, Knicks ($4,800): Galloway still ended up with 20 fantasy points against Charlotte. That performance impressed the Knicks so much that they signed him for the rest of the season. He has played 28 or more minutes in five straight games now, and has averaged 24.2 minutes in that span. So long as his price stays in this area, he is a solid play against anyone. The fact that he held his own against Charlotte proves that.
Worth The Cost:
John Wall, Wizards ($9,100): For those of you that gambled on Wall last night, he paid off in a big way nearly posting a triple double in 36 minutes against the Lakers. Any Achilles pain he was having was not evident while he was on the court. So long as he plays tonight, he has another very good matchup against the Suns. He may be the highest scoring point guard once again.
Jeff Teague, Hawks ($8,000): He had some tough opponents last week, which brought his price down a little bit. He still topped 30 fantasy points against the Thunder, Bulls, and Pacers though so he can put up good numbers when his matchups are right. Tonight he gets the Nets, which is not a great matchup, but it is better than the ones most of the higher priced players have. He should be in the 30ās again fantasy wise, even if Dennis Schroder does continue to pick away at his minutes.
Risky Plays:
Brian Roberts, Hornets ($4,100): The loss of Kemba Walker is a huge one. Roberts scored a respectable 23.1 fantasy points in place of Walker on Saturday, but it was against the Knicks. It should be taken wtih a grain of salt. Roberts scored in the 20ās a couple of times earlier in the season when Walker was hurt, but not consistently enough to be a reliable option. The Spurs defend well enough to give him problems. I think there are better options available tonight.
Zach LaVine, Timberwolves ($3,700): Ricky Rubio still is not ready to return, and Mo Williams is not playing tonight, so it appears that LaVine will log another start. The difference now is that the Timberwolves also have Troy Daniels lurking on the bench, so LaVine likely will not have as much of a run as he did the last time Williams was injured. Still, he has a very good matchup against the Celtics, and could be worth a flier if you need to go cheap.
My Lineups:
A: Augustin and Galloway ($10,800)
B:Ā Kyrie IrvingĀ and Augustin ($14,500): Irving had a big game against a good opponent last night. I am hoping he can do it again.
Next: Is DeRozan Woth Playing Again?
Jan 25, 2015; Toronto, Ontario, CAN; Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan (10) scores two as as Detroit Pistons forward Kyle Singler (25) and Toronto
Shooting Guards:
Bargains:
Eric Gordon, Pelicans ($5,600): Gordon continues to consistently produce in the mid to high 20ās for fantasy points, and he has a great matchup against the Nuggets tonight. Denver has struggled defensively for most of the year, and a pure shooter like Gordon could boost his numbers into the mid 30ās tonight. Especially if Tyreke Evans canāt play because Jrue Holliday is still out.
Dion Waiters, Thunder ($4,900): Kevin Durant is out, and the Thunder have a great matchup against the rebuilding Knicks. Without Durant, Waiters should see more minutes with Anthony Morrow picking up some time at SF. Morrow may even start at SF, which would open up the SG slot for Waiters or Reggie Jackson. At any rate, Waiters should see at least 25 minutes, and maybe as many shots against the porous Knicks.
Worth The Cost:
James Harden, Rockets ($11,400): Harden has a good matchup against Dallas. Of course, it doesnāt hurt that he is riding a four game streak of 50+ fantasy point games. He has also topped 50 in six of his last seven games. He might be the safest play of a very loaded night. Itās a toss up between him ane LeBron James, but Harden has a better matchup.
DeMar DeRozan, Raptors ($6,800): I know, you canāt put too much stock intoĀ two games, but DeRozan lit up the Pistons on Sunday and played well against the Pacers last night. DeRozan, who has largely struggled since his returnĀ eight games ago is starting to knock down shots with more consistency.Ā Tonight he takes on the Kings, who got lit up Friday by another great shooter in Klay Thompson. Iām not saying that DeRozan can do what Thompson did, but he certainly has a chance to post his best line since his return.
Risky Plays:
Kevin Martin, Timberwolves ($6,600): Martin is picking a good night to return. Not only does he get the rebuilding Celtics, but he returns on a night when the Timberwolvesā backcourt is pretty beat up with Williams and Rubio out. Martin remains a huge risk because he wonāt start the game. He also has Andrew Wiggins playing in front of him. It is yet to be seen whether the Timberwolves will slide Wiggins back down to SF and bench Thaddeus Young or just bring Martin off the bench. Tonight at least, Martin will likely come off the bench, and how many minutes he gets is anyoneās guess.
Tim Hardaway Jr., Knicks ($5,300): Hardaway had a great outing against the Hornets on Saturday Jose Calderon out. Calderon is still a game-time decision. If he canāt go, Hardaway is a great play again. The Knicks looked good with Galloway and Hardaway in the backcourt. There is a chance they could try to go that route more going forward.
My Lineups:
A: DeRozan and Gordon ($12,400)
B: Gordon and Wesley Matthews ($11,600): Matthews is shooting the ball well lately, and is sporting a 30 fantasy points per game average over his last five games. His matchup against Cleveland is not as good as it was earlier in the year, but Iman Shumpert canāt solve all of the problems. I still think Matthews is a strong play.

Small Forward:
Bargains:
Joe Ingles, Jazz ($4,100): Ingles has taken the SG job and run with it since Rodney Hood went down. The struggles of Dante Exum have made this an easy decision for the Jazz. Ingles has scored 70.3 fantasy points in the last three games, which is great production for his price.
Chandler Parsons, Mavericks ($6,000): Aside from being dominated by the Pelicans on Sunday, Parsons has been playing well lately. If you take that game out, he has averaged 25.2 fantasy points over that stretch. Not great numbers, but good enough to keep you in contention.
Worth The Cost:
LeBron James, Cavaliers ($11,000): Since his return to the courtĀ eight games ago, the King has averaged 48.4 fantasy points per game, and has cracked the 50 point barrier four times. The Blazers do pretty well defensively, but James isĀ a guy that you play no matter the matchup. He takes games over more in Cleveland this year than he did with the Heat last year. I donāt see that trend changing anytime soon. If he can put up good numbers against Detroit, he can against anyone.
Gordon Hayward, Jazz ($7,800): I donāt really like Haywardās matchup against the Clippers since Matt Barnes is a good defender. Still, it is hard for me to ignore just how consistently good he has been. He has his best game of the season against the Celtics on Monday. That likely wonāt happen again, but he has been a sure bet for 25 fantasy points. He has only been below that mark twice in 2015.
Risky Plays:
Tayshaun Prince, Celtics ($3,800): Princeās minutes have gradually increased since his move to Boston. He was thought to be an unimportant piece of the Jeff Green deal, but Prince played 30 minutes against the Jazz on Monday and scored 29 fantasy points. If the Celtics let him keep taking these minutes, he is going to produce for you. The only problem is that you never really know which way the Celtics will go.
Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves ($7,100): Wiggins has a great matchup against Boston tonight, but if the Celtics elect to play Tayshaun Prince, he is a solid defender and could give Wiggins some trouble. The rookie phenom has been up and down all season. In the past ten games alone, he has fluctuated between 18.9 and 53.8 fantasy points. That is a huge gap, making him a pretty big risk. The return of Kevin Martin also adds another risky element to the equation.
My Lineups:
A: James and Ingles ($15,100)
B: Ingles and DeMarre Carroll ($9,500): Carroll continues to be a consistent producer for Atlanta. That shouldnāt change tonight against the Nets.
Next: You Need To Spend At PF Tonight

Power Forwards:
Bargains:
Brandon Bass, Celtics ($5,100): Bass continues to play between 25 and 35 minutes a game with Kelly Olynyk out, and that likely wonāt change. His production has dipped a little, but he still has six straight games of over 20 fantasy points. That is a good bargain for his price.
Patrick Patterson, Raptors ($4,600): For whatever reason, Patterson has actually been playing as many or more minutes than starter Amir Johnson lately. He has averaged 24.5 fantasy points per game since this trend began six games ago. Over that span, Johnson has averaged only 20 fantasy points a game. You have to play the trends, and the trend shows Patterson as the safer bet right now.
Worth The Cost:
Greg Monroe, Pistons ($8,600): Monroe has been a nightmare for opposing teams since moving into the starting lineup. He has not been under 30 fantasy points since January 2nd, and is averaging 37.6 fantasy points over his last ten games. He has everything a daily player covets: consistently above 30 fantasy points, and a great matchup agianst the 76ers. I am more comfortable with Monroe than any other PF not named Anthony Davis tonight.
Anthony Davis, Pelicans ($11,400): Davis has averaged a whopping 52.4 fantasy points in four games since returning from a toe injury. His string of great matchups continues tonight as he gets to take on the Nuggets. The Nuggets have talent up front, but they are all young, and mostly offensive minded players. I wouldnāt rule out him hitting that current average.
Risky Plays:
Kevin Love, Cavaliers ($8,800): Love is inconsistent at best as long as LeBron James is on the court with him, at least from a fantasy perspective. He has been over 40 fantasy points twice since the return of the King, and has been under 30Ā four times. There is a strong likelihood that will happen againstĀ LaMarcus Aldridge andĀ PortlandĀ tonight. There are better options at lower prices.
Thaddeus Young, Timberwolves ($6,800): Young has done a fantastic job since taking over as the starting SF with the return of Nikola Pekovic. So why is he a risk? The return of Kevin Martin is going to shake up the lineup a little bit. Maybe not tonight, but it will definitely affect the rotation. That could spell fewer minutes for Young in particular. Which is a bummer for us daily players because he gets the Celtics tonight.
My Lineups:
A: Monroe andĀ Patterson ($13,200)
B:Ā Davis and MonroeĀ ($20,000)
Next: Can You Trust Any Of The Cheap Options At C?
Jan 17, 2015; Denver, CO, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves center Gorgui Dieng (5) during the game against the Denver Nuggets at Pepsi Center. Mandatory Credit: Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports
Center:
Bargains:
Steven Adams, Thunder ($4,400): This is mostly based on his matchup since Adams has not exactly been the model of consistency in either production or minutes this year. Still, he is hard to pass on against the weak interior of the Knicks. The Timberwolves are solid up front, and Adams still managed to drop 21 fantasy points on them on Monday. He seems like a safe play tonight.
Gorgui Dieng, Timberwolves ($6,900): If anything, the return of Nikola Pekovic has helped out Dieng by moving him to PF. His minutes are not down at all, and his production is actually up. He is averaging 32.4 fantasy points per game since the return of Pekovic, and has a good matchup against Boston tonight. He is a really good option if you canāt afford one of the top two guys.
Worth The Cost:
DeMarcus Cousins, Kings ($11,100): Cousins has averaged 49.3. fantasy points since returning to the court three games ago. He was dominant before that as well, so there is no reason to think that he wonāt help that average tonight against the Raptors.
Andre Drummond, Pistons ($8,400): Drummond is mostly a matchup play at this point. The 76ers have been punished up front by nearly every big. Drummond has a chance for a monster game tonight.
Risky Play:
Timofey Mozgov, Cavaliers ($5,100): Mozgov was held in check by the Thunder on Sunday in a game where he had a good matchup. His inconsistency makes him hard to trust. Portland is running around mostly without a true center for half of the game since they donāt want to play Chris Kaman more than 25 minutes a game. Even so, I donāt expect a good game from Mozgov. There is too much risk involved.
Enes Kanter ($5,900) and Rudy Gobert ($6,400), Jazz: I donāt like the matchup against DeAndre Jordan for either one of them. Gobert is a slightly better play since he wonāt have to tangle with Jordan as much, but I still donāt trust it. You shouldnāt be scraping for a center on a heavy night like tonight. Go for a safer option.
My Lineups:
A Drummond ($8,400)
B: Adams ($4,400)
