Here are my turbo FanDuel lineups for January 28th:
Point Guards:
Bargains:
Jarrett Jack, Nets ($6,800): Atlanta could be a tougher matchup for Jack tonight, but he has been over 30 fantasy points in four of his last five games. He should be well rested and ready to go for this one.
Langston Galloway, Knicks ($4,800): Galloway still ended up with 20 fantasy points against Charlotte. That performance impressed the Knicks so much that they signed him for the rest of the season. He has played 28 or more minutes in five straight games now, and has averaged 24.2 minutes in that span. So long as his price stays in this area, he is a solid play against anyone. The fact that he held his own against Charlotte proves that.
Worth The Cost:
Russell Westbrook, Thunder ($10,800): My only concern with Westbrook is the fact that the game against the Knicks could turn into a blowout. If it does, the Thunder will likely rest their stars. On the other hand, in order for this game to turn into a blowout with Kevin Durant out, Westbrook will likely have big numbers when he is on the court. I am leaning more towards trusting him than not.
Jeff Teague, Hawks ($8,000): He had some tough opponents last week, which brought his price down a little bit. He still topped 30 fantasy points against the Thunder, Bulls, and Pacers though so he can put up good numbers when his matchups are right. Tonight he gets the Nets, which is not a great matchup, but it is better than the ones most of the higher priced players have. He should be in the 30ās again fantasy wise, even if Dennis Schroder does continue to pick away at his minutes.
Risky Plays:
Ty Lawson, Nuggets ($9,000): If you gamble on Lawson tonight, it could turn huge benefits for you. Jrue Holliday is already out, and if Tyreke Evans also misses the game, the normally tough New Orleans defense has two huge holes on the perimeter. If you have the means, check up until tip off to see just how short handed the Pelicans are. Lawson could come up big.
Zach LaVine, Timberwolves ($3,700): Ricky Rubio still is not ready to return, and Mo Williams is not playing tonight, so it appears that LaVine will log another start. The difference now is that the Timberwolves also have Troy Daniels lurking on the bench, so LaVine likely will not have as much of a run as he did the last time Williams was injured. Still, he has a very good matchup against the Celtics, and could be worth a flier if you need to go cheap.
My Lineups:
A: Teague and LaVine ($11,700)
B: Galloway and LaVine ($8,500)
Next: Should You Spend On Harden?
Jan 23, 2015; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Houston Rockets guard James Harden (13) reacts in the second half against the Phoenix Suns at US Airways Center. The Rockets defeated the Suns 113-111. Mandatory Credit: Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports
Shooting Guards:
Bargains:
Eric Gordon, Pelicans ($5,600): Gordon continues to consistently produce in the mid to high 20ās for fantasy points, and he has a great matchup against the Nuggets tonight. Denver has struggled defensively for most of the year, and a pure shooter like Gordon could boost his numbers into the mid 30ās tonight. Especially if Tyreke Evans canāt play because Jrue Holliday is still out.
Dion Waiters, Thunder ($4,900): Kevin Durant is out, and the Thunder have a great matchup against the rebuilding Knicks. Without Durant, Waiters should see more minutes with Anthony Morrow picking up some time at SF. Morrow may even start at SF, which would open up the SG slot for Waiters or Reggie Jackson. At any rate, Waiters should see at least 25 minutes, and maybe as many shots against the porous Knicks.
Worth The Cost:
James Harden, Rockets ($11,400): Harden has a good matchup against Dallas. Of course, it doesnāt hurt that he is riding a four game streak of 50+ fantasy point games. He has also topped 50 in six of his last seven games. He might be the safest play of a very loaded night. Itās a toss up between him ane LeBron James, but Harden has a better matchup.
Monta Ellis, Mavericks ($7,800): Hardenās limitations on defense are well known, and Ellis comes into the game playing well. He even managed a decent 22.7 fantasy points against Memphis last night. He could have a big night against the Rockets.
Risky Plays:
Kevin Martin, Timberwolves ($6,600): Martin is picking a good night to return. Not only does he get the rebuilding Celtics, but he returns on a night when the Timberwolvesā backcourt is pretty beat up with Williams and Rubio out. Martin remains a huge risk because he wonāt start the game. He also has Andrew Wiggins playing in front of him. It is yet to be seen whether the Timberwolves will slide Wiggins back down to SF and bench Thaddeus Young or just bring Martin off the bench. Tonight at least, Martin will likely come off the bench, and how many minutes he gets is anyoneās guess.
Tim Hardaway Jr., Knicks ($5,300): Hardaway had a great outing against the Hornets on Saturday Jose Calderon out. Calderon is still a game-time decision. If he canāt go, Hardaway is a great play again. The Knicks looked good with Galloway and Hardaway in the backcourt. There is a chance they could try to go that route more going forward.
My Lineups:
A: Waiters and Gordon ($10,500)
B: Harden and Gordon ($17,000)
Next: Limited Options at SF with Durant Out

Small Forward:
Bargains:
DeMarre Carroll, Hawks ($5,400): Carroll continues to score in the 20ās as far as fantasy points go. Just donāt play him against tough opponents. He was handcuffed by the Pistons and Bulls, but has done well against everyone else. The Nets fall somewhere in the middle, so Carroll should be a solid play.
Chandler Parsons, Mavericks ($6,000): Aside from being dominated by the Pelicans on Sunday, Parsons has been playing well lately. If you take that game out, he has averaged 25.2 fantasy points over that stretch. Not great numbers, but good enough to keep you in contention.
Worth The Cost:
Carmelo Anthony, Knicks ($9,600): Anthonyās absence on Saturday was just because the Knicks didnt want him playing in back to back games. With the snowstorm wiping out Mondayās contest, a well-rested Anthony will most likely take the court against the Thunder. As you may have heard, Kevin Durant is not in the lineup tonight. That makes Anthony an even stronger play than he already was.
Risky Plays:
Tayshaun Prince, Celtics ($3,800): Princeās minutes have gradually increased since his move to Boston. He was thought to be an unimportant piece of the Jeff Green deal, but Prince played 30 minutes against the Jazz on Monday and scored 29 fantasy points. If the Celtics let him keep taking these minutes, he is going to produce for you. The only problem is that you never really know which way the Celtics will go.
Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves ($7,100): Wiggins has a great matchup against Boston tonight, but if the Celtics elect to play Tayshaun Prince, he is a solid defender and could give Wiggins some trouble. The rookie phenom has been up and down all season. In the past ten games alone, he has fluctuated between 18.9 and 53.8 fantasy points. That is a huge gap, making him a pretty big risk. The return of Kevin Martin also adds another risky element to the equation.
My Lineups:
A: Anthony and Carroll ($14,000)
B: Wiggins and Prince ($10,900)
Next: You Need To Spend At PF Tonight
Jan 25, 2015; New Orleans, LA, USA; New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis (23) blocks a shot by Dallas Mavericks guard Monta Ellis (11) during the fourth quarter of a game at the Smoothie King Center. Power Forwards:
Bargains:
Brandon Bass, Celtics ($5,100): Bass continues to play between 25 and 35 minutes a game with Kelly Olynyk out, and that likely wonāt change. His production has dipped a little, but he still has six straight games of over 20 fantasy points. That is a good bargain for his price.
Donatas Motiejunas, Rockets ($5,400): Motiejunas has never been the type of guy that will score in the mid-30ās or higher for fantasy points, but it seems that he is always in the mid 20ās. In fact, he has only two games that were not between 23 and 29 fantasy points in his last ten games. One of those was a 35 point outburst against the Knicks. The other was a disasterous 10.6 against the Warriors. He has a solid matchup against Dallas tonight which makes him just that: solid.
Worth The Cost:
Paul Millsap, Hawks ($8,100): Millsap has a great matchup against either Kevin Garnett or Brook Lopez. Millsap has averaged 35.2 fantasy points over his last seven games since being given a game off. He has picked up his level a little more over the last two games, scoring 42 fantasy points in both of them. I really like him against the Nets tonight.
Anthony Davis, Pelicans ($11,400): Davis has averaged a whopping 52.4 fantasy points in four games since returning from a toe injury. His string of great matchups continues tonight as he gets to take on the Nuggets. The Nuggets have talent up front, but they are all young, and mostly offensive minded players. I wouldnāt rule out him hitting that current average.
Risky Plays:
Kenneth Faried, Nuggets ($6,600): I like Fariedās game, but I really donāt like his matchup. Anthony Davis is a load on both ends of the court. I would stay away from Faried for tonight.
Thaddeus Young, Timberwolves ($6,800): Young has done a fantastic job since taking over as the starting SF with the return of Nikola Pekovic. So why is he a risk? The return of Kevin Martin is going to shake up the lineup a little bit. Maybe not tonight, but it will definitely affect the rotation. That could spell fewer minutes for Young in particular. Which is a bummer for us daily players because he gets the Celtics tonight.
My Lineups:
A: Davis and Millsap ($19,500)
B: Davis andĀ Bass ($16,500)
Next: Can You Trust Any Of The Cheap Options At C?
Jan 17, 2015; Denver, CO, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves center Gorgui Dieng (5) during the game against the Denver Nuggets at Pepsi Center. Mandatory Credit: Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports
Center:
Bargain:
Steven Adams, Thunder ($4,400): This is mostly based on his matchup since Adams has not exactly been the model of consistency in either production or minutes this year. Still, he is hard to pass on against the weak interior of the Knicks. The Timberwolves are solid up front, and Adams still managed to drop 21 fantasy points on them on Monday. He seems like a safe play tonight.
Worth The Cost:
Gorgui Dieng, Timberwolves ($6,900): If anything, the return of Nikola Pekovic has helped out Dieng by moving him to PF. His minutes are not down at all, and his production is actually up. He is averaging 32.4 fantasy points per game since the return of Pekovic, and has a good matchup against Boston tonight. He is a really good option if you canāt afford one of the top two guys.
Risky Play:
Tyson Chandler, Mavericks ($6,900): Chandler has had three games under 22 fantasy points in his last four outings. It sounds like Dwight Howard will play tonight, which makes his matchup a tough one. A struggling player against a tough opponent is not a good combination.
My Lineups:
A: Adams ($4,400)
B: Dieng ($6,900)
