The Broncos’ cornerback thinks his quarterback can be like a certain Super Bowl winning QB

The Denver Broncos are facing a lot of questions going this offseason. They hired Gary Kubiak as their head coach and Wade Phillips to be their defensive coordinator. They also face the uncertainty on whether Peyton Manning will return to lead the team at quarterback or not. If Manning doesn’t come back, the team will find out whether or not if former Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler can lead the Broncos as their future quarterback.

Broncos’ cornerback Chris Harris thinks Osweiler can be the man to do it and sees a lot of similarities to another quarterback in the league.

Harris sees a lot of Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco in Osweiler and similarities in the way that the two quarterbacks play the game. Harris was on The Sports Show with Woody Paige and Les Shapiro Friday, and discussed the comparison.

“Gary Kubiak is a great fit for Brock,” Harris said on the show, “Brock is Joe Flacco Jr. He has the big arm. He’s tall like Joe. He’s mobile. He’s the same mobile as Joe.

Harris has first hand experience watching Flacco lead a team to the Super Bowl, as the Ravens knocked off Harris and the Broncos in the epic double overtime game on January 12, 2013. In that game Flacco found Jacoby Jones on a 70-yard bomb to tie the game at the end of regulation.

The Ravens of course would go onto Super Bowl 47 where they would knock off the San Francisco 49ers and capture their second Super Bowl.

Another similarity is that Gary Kubiak was Flacco’s offensive coordinator this past season and can provide Osweiler with the same wisdom. Harris made note of that while a gues on the show.

To bring a guy like Kubiak that’s worked with Joe Flacco last year and had success with him,” Harris said on the show, “I think in the future, Kubiak’s a better fit for Brock than Gase would be offensive-wise.”

So if Osweiler is indeed the guy in Denver next year, he already has the backing of his cornerback and has a head coach to work with him and develop into what Broncos’ fans and the front office alike are hoping will end up being the quarterback of the future for the franchise.
